Are these allowed to take while travelling on airplanes?

    • +2

      yes, 25000mAh x 3.7V = 92.5Wh

        • mAh is the battery capacity, LiIon is nominally 3.6-3.7V.

        • +1

The actual cells are rated at 3.7V which is what you measure. If it was rated on the USB output you could calculate it on 5V, 9V, 12V, 15V or 20V.

        • As others have said, it's calculated based on the cell voltage not the 5V starting output. Also, no need to tape terminals - this applies to lithium batteries - the terminals in these are covered and a USB port is not a 'terminal'

        • Good to know, is that somewhere on most listings/websites or is it something which is just assumed for Lilon cells? Just handy to know where to look in future as the tech changes :D

          • @brent3000: Almost all standard LiIon cells are 3.7V and capacities are calculated from that. Only special, purpose-built batteries may have different voltages (which would be stated if so).

Most commercial battery packs are just running 18650 or 26650 cells, which are always 3.7V rated.

            • @Tacooo: Well thats good to know, hard to tell when the only ref to V was the output not on the cell level, there is my learning for the day. Hard to know the actual number as that kind of into isnt actually posted anywhere by the manufacture or the listing. Not the most common of knowledge until you looked for it :)

          • +1

@brent3000: The power capacity is actually printed on any decent powerbank.

I've got the 10000mAh one which it says has a 37wh capacity.

            • @lolcoaster: You are right! one of the reviews has a pic on the back of the unit and it has 92.5Wh
Thanks for the tip on where else to dig :)

think so but a lot of airlines are banning using them on board, has to be stored in carry on

Love this one. Comes with me when i take my ally.

    392.3g

How does this compare relative to other 25k mAh 100W power banks?

The regular size INIU one is 473g so this is already lighter, but would be good to know for comparison.

    • +3

The OzB favourite xiaomi No. 20 is 592g so much lighter. However I dont know if I’d trust the cells inside this pack to last as long

  • Compared to standard size, not that much smaller or lighter. IMHO standard size is better bang for buck, coz its ~$8 cheaper. Eitherway, the powerbank (standard/mini) are both great!

    • +2

I think this is more catered to those who travel frequently and have limited space/weight limits.

      • But we adapt to the size requirements. Why make one smaller or perhaps the better question is why keep making ones bigger?

    • IMHO standard size is better bang for buck, coz its ~$8 cheaper.

You're stating the obvious - the standard is 31% off whilst the mini is 15% off.

thank you pope francis for taking the time to do the maths to state the obvious about my statement. Off you go now, do some real work instead of trolling others comments!
fyi - this post does not mention anything about standard version, hence why I posted my comment!

    Amazon customer (Hubert S) shared output-voltages, https://m.media-amazon.com/images/I/61iIvlB9bOL.jpg

    INIU claims that this power-bank charges Samsung-S23 3900mAh battery 3.8 times, https://www.amazon.com.au/dp/B0DBHC4FF3?th=1
    That's a 40% energy loss, or 60% efficiency-rating. Calc. ( 25000mAh x 0.6 efficiency ) / 3900mAh = 3.84

    • Definitely stay wary, however the weight in that picture suggests he's using the standard sized version, not the mini.

    • +1

      That's a 40% energy loss, or 60% efficiency-rating. Calc. ( 25000mAh x 0.6 efficiency ) / 3900mAh = 3.84

it's also written on the back of the power bank, rated capacity 15000mAh.

      so 15000mAh/3900mAh = 3.84.

    • +1

      That's a 40% energy-loss, or 60% efficiency-rating.

Anker, Ugreen & premium-brand are likely to have similar 40% energy-loss. Note that this measurement is @ the DEVICE being-charge, ie the battery in the DEVICE also incur energy-loss, eg it heats-up etc during charging.

INIU should be commended for being candid.

FACT-check: turn-OFF your device during the charging-process & see how many times your power-bank charges it.

Source: 'That’s an average efficiency rate of around 60 percent.', https://www.engadget.com/computing/accessories/best-power-ba…

Is this a good buy? Any other models to look out for? Looking for 100w as well and hopefully compact

    • i think it's a bit expensive

  • I have a 27,000mAh INIU and no problem for international travel.

  • Amazing they can pack so much power in such small package.

  • +1

I have this unit. It is great but much thicker than the images shown. Not too much but was kinda disappointed (i know shouldve looked at specs carefully). No regrets though as i do have a use for it

  • Has anyone done a review to say the unit really does have 25k mah?
