Deal is back, 100% WPI for $34 a kg is a good deal atm. 77.5g protein per 100g.
BN and others are around $50 a kg for WPI.

Greed and artificial scarcity seems rampant with manufacturers suppliers of WPI. It’s gone to their heads… no reason why it should be in shortage as it’s a product of diary (which is in constant supply year round)
Bulk Buying/ bought WPC at more reasonable prices for the foreseeable future. WPI suppliers/ manufacturers can use some humble pie.
Yeah going to make a switch to WPC given how outrageous WPI pricing is now
Thank you, I like
To buy this but is this pure vegetarian stuff? Milk is exception I can have…no meat related stuff in ingredient right?
WPI “usually” has lower carbs and higher protein for its volume. But yes, WPI is a rip.
It would be the filtration isolation process that is in short supply, not the dairy
Valid choice! WPC is perfectly fine for most of us, unless training at an elite level.
Yeah, no more BN…
$55 a Kg is ridiculous
absolutely. they're so big now, economy of scale especially after I've been recommending them for nearly 10 years, yet a direct to consumer pricing model on WPI being as much as brick and mortar makes no sense. they already partner with dairy farmers in aus and this is their best? greedy pricing strategy.
I'd move away from BN if they didn't sell future whey. It's the cheapest protein water that isn't made from animal products.
Agreed, this is now the best WPI/KG price in Australia. I used to be massive supporter of Bulk Nutrients but with recent price rise, doesn't make sense anymore.
INC protein is also sourced from NZ Grass Fed cows. Another worthwhile product from them is their Creatine: works out $45.58 /KG which is also cheaper than BN ( if you consider shipping). Plus much better container (500g plastic tubs) which reduce risk of contamination compared to BN bags.

Do you have a link for their NZ sourced protein?
I think it’s time k changed to INC
Edit: on their website!
Shopback is running myprotein deal with 40% off and 25% cashback, better than the previous tcb deal
by my calc, 2kg WPI from Myprotein = 72.88 after the discounts
I was looking at 5kg deal, but yes if u take 2kg ,this is a much better deal
Ah Yep. if you buy the 5kg, its equivalent to $32.40 per kg
Question is, what's the shelf life of protein powder after opened? I worry a person may not be able to use it all within that time?
@YellingIntoTheVoid: Shouldn't be an issue. You're probably not working out hard enough to warrant using protein powder if you can't go through 5kg's within it's normal expiry period. Personally, I have 1-2 scoops a day to get my 2g per kg, 6 days a week and found myself going through 5kg well before it's expiry when consuming like this. Even half of that is fine. I know this because the final bag from my last 5kg deal just got used last month and the expiry was in December 25. I've been training and eating less since I got a chalazion cyst in November last year, so I haven't been a heavy user of late. I backed off from training 5 days a week down to 3 and dropped the intensity drastically for 4 months until my eyelid healed properly. I've probably eaten half as much protein powder this year as I normally would.
@Tythefly86: Yeah I only have one scoop after workout every second day. My philosophy is to get as much protein through natural means, and the powder is a supplement.
It would take me about a year to get through that much 😄
@YellingIntoTheVoid: I share the same philosophy, the problem is I don't have a huge appetite to get it all in so I need to add at least 1-2 scoops a day to get to 2g per kg of bodyweight. On an average day I get over 100g of protein from chicken/steak. eggs, non homo milk, greek yoghurt, etc, but that still doesn't get me to the 160g I need daily. I suppose one benefit is that I don't get the extra calories included with a natural source of protein for that remaining 50-60g/day and it helps me stay lean and keep my 6-pack lol.
Coupon code IMPACT will be 50% off tomorrow at Myprotein. Although I am not sure whether Shopback will still have 25% cashback.
ShopBack only tracked a max $30 cashback from my order when I was expecting $100 cashback (couldn't find any t and cs saying this would be the case but whatever) cancelled the myprotein order and got this instead
Thanks OP, bought 4kg. Never tried this brand before though. I was waiting for Amino Z to make a WPI deal but sadly they haven't and I need my next supply right now
I’m with you on that, where are you AminoZ ?
Same. Just re ordered from them last week. 2kg for just over $100! Granted, their exceptional flavours, service and really fast delivery do make up for it.
they recently reply with current situation:
Yep, WPI pricing is currently insane, I totally agree. As compared to 12 months ago, pricing has practically doubled for the raw materials.
The primary reason is demand has increased significantly whereas production/supply has not increased proportionally. Supply/demand.
In our email communication, we mentioned a few other factors. These are no where near as prominent, but worth mentioning:
Inflation (in general) has played a smaller role, but has been a consideration.
The Aussie dollar has (in the more immediate term) been lower since December last year. Most WPI is imported from EU/US the weaker dollar has impacted pricing.
US Tariffs. The longer-term impact is still anyone's guess. In the immediate term, it's more around uncertainty and the impact this has had on the markets. Our dollar remains relatively weak as compared to the long-term, despite bouncing around recently. China is now pulling more protein from EU (which drives up EU pricing considerably). US domestic demand is very increasingly high for US protein to avoid tariffs.
Manufacturers of WPI generally will also have the capacity to produce WPC. But given that WPI requires some additional equipment with a relatively minor investment, and that WPI has increased substantially relative to WPC pricing (ie. higher profits), many producers are reducing their production of WPC to produce more WPI. Yet, at least for now, demand is still not being met globally.
WPC has increased in price, but WPI has increased notably more. Historically WPI is generally 50% more than WPC. It's now trading at around 100% more, give or take.
So this is why WPI based products are so incredibly expensive relative to what they were last year.
For this reason also, we have not been able to do any promotions on our WPI and we have been forced to raise our prices. Others have done similarly too as noted in this discussion. It's not only an increase in raw material pricing, but also a real lack of supply. Frankly we do not even have the quantity available to do any form of discounting on our WPI.
I cannot comment on what's going to happen later this year, it's really anyone's guess and no one has a crystal ball. Some predict whey protein pricing may go higher, others predict that it may fall as current prices are unsustainable. At this stage it's like tossing a coin. But for transparency, I would not rule out further price increases at this stage.
We are receiving daily enquiries about when our next promotion is, so perhaps I can share some insight. What we are doing is working on a new product which will come in at a lower price point. WPI is very quickly moving into the "premium" price end of protein powders. We are developing a new formulation that is not so heavily reliant on WPI that we can sell at a lower price point. This will likely be the focus of our next promotion here on OzBargain (but as of yet, we have no firm ETA as we are still developing the product).
I hope this provides a bit of background.
Jay
its all fugazi. BS artificial "supply shortages" to drive up prices.
As long as people keep buyin at these crazy prices, they'll keep putting it on.
@YellingIntoTheVoid: Same with all the egg shortages recently too. I noticed all the prices went up once the shortages stopped lol.. This is just whey made from milk for the most part. We need to refuse to pay high prices and only go for deals like this where it's well under $40/kg.
They're certainly in my emails…no Vanessa, I don't need help with my cart or want 5% off my non-existent order.
Last deal was boxingday from memory and they restricted it to 3kg
regretted buying the boxing day deal…. got my some WPI musashi from previous sale, should last me for awhile.
I actually rate INC protein WPI. The scooper is held in a little tab near the lid so you never have to go fishing for it - not sure why other brands dont think about this. Also the INC protein does not froth anywhere near as much as the Aminoz powders when shaken in a bottle.
Thanks OP. I Haven't tried this before just grabbed 4kg & have been sitting on the fence waiting for an AminoZ deal
Combank 10:70 deal ending today. All available stores closed right now. :(
You should have bought a chemist warehouse giftcard
How do these flavours go? Might have to try some.
Thanks! Sick of waiting for AminoZ, bought 2
Just cancelled my AminoZ S&S and grabbed 2 of these instead.. thanks!
I will wait for the next comparable AminoZ deal … where have they gone …
Read comments above
Guess that explains things, unfortunately with the cost of everything these days I'm simply going where I find the best deal
Deal applies to their WPC and Micellar Casein as well.
Inc is fine. Limited flavours but tastes fine to me. Great if you're mostly interested in bang for buck protein.
Interestingly their WPC actually works out more cost-effective per gram of protein than WPI, when adjusted for quality. So unless you're currently gunning for 12% body fat it could be a good option.
One downside of INC is they tend to have more fillers than some of the more expensive brands.
Surely one extra gram of fat wont stop you getting to 12%
Actually the WPC has almost 3x the fat (and 2x carbs)
WPI - Fat 3.0g Carbs 4.7g
WPC - Fat 8.6g Carbs 8.7g
So it all depends what else you are eating, how strict your diet is and how quickly you want to lose the body fat. But I thought it was worth noting the difference.
Is that per 100g right?
The vanilla flavour WPI has a higher protein % than the chocolate at 81.9%.
which type should i buy to gain weight
you wont gain weight from protein powder lol you need to eat food and be in surplus.
Make your own "weight gainer" shake.
In a blender add: banana, peanut butter, oats, milk, protein powder, olive oil. Adjust based on your preference of consistency.
Thank you
Agree with the shake, easy to down for the cals.
I've tried different ones over time and I stick with this now:
450ml full cream milk
120g high protein greek yoghurt (Coles, woolies or aldi brand)
1tbsp mayver smunchy protein peanut butter
1 scoop protein powder
Handful of frozen blueberries
That gives me 670cals, 61g protein to start the day.
There are definitely shakes that give more, but personally some ingredient were harder for me to down and I found it hard to keep consistent if mentally I didn't want to drink it.
Before you even begin you should use a TDEE calculator to understand what your current maintenance calories are. To gain you will need to exceed that amount.
@currentfad: How long have you been doing this for?
Anything more than 30g of protein a meal is wasted.
Aim for 30g each meal and snack across the day, 62g for breakfast is over reach
@Jessie Ryder: Proven false years ago.
You can digest way more than 30g in a meal, it just takes longer.
They also make a really tasty plant based version.
You know what it's like compared to musashi?
probably the best one I've had. i find a lot of protein powder is to overly sweetened. Never tried the musashi.
ingredients list reads like a testube.
those who use it, do you observe anything adverse or the weights of the list of additives in it are harmless.
She'll be right. Remember, eat Clen, Tren hard, Anavar giveup
Thanks OP! Grabbed, my last aminoz order was about to run out, great timing.
I prefer unflavored myprotein and flavor it by myself.
Yeah but how much is that per kg?
Register a new account and after the cashback from shopback, should be 133.65 approx. for 5kg
What do you use for flavouring? I've used the drops from them I believe and the toffee one tasted pretty good. The choc was rubbish though.
donno why, page wont go to check out, when select Paypal or credit card, tried different store.
Me too, on iPhone, ended up using PC and works fine
If you're sticking with the WPC (as I do), can recommend the Choc Mint flavour - it's great!
Choc and Vanilla also good tasting
Pea protien one from this company is nice and only 52 for 2kg.. whats the diff?
Pea protein doesn't really have a complete amino acid profile needed to build muscle despite what company marketing tells you
That's not true. Typically it doesn't have as high DIAAS as whey but it's still a complete protein. How much of it your body can use depends completely on the limiting amino acid.
When I mean incomplete amino acid, I mean more limited amounts of the amino acid needed to build muscle.
@exit: Ok. Still can't generalise though.
eg: Bulk Nutrients Pea Isolate has half the bioavailable protein as SSD's Pea Isolate, which has a higher amount than some WPC and WPI's currently on the market.
@exit: You just supplement that with whole foods in your diet. No one should rely completely on protein powder as a source of AAs required to build muscle.
@AUBRX: I can guarantee no one is downing 6 protein shakes (25g protein each) to meet their 150g protein intake
according to my mem, plant protein absorption rate is 66%, unless u r Vegan
how does the micellar casein one compare at 72 bucks for 2kgs.
personally, i am just speaking for my self, i wont take that, it used to be rubbish, and if you taking before you sleep, it ruins your kidney in long run. I only take WPI or amino acid. it just for my self and my own opinion.
@nng526: What's your source for Casein being worse for your kidneys? As far as I know there's no inherent difference between casein and other forms of protein. The timing of when you take protein doesn't make any difference. The key factor is the overall amount of protein you're consuming.
Casein is an excellent source of slow release protein. Typically a higher quality source than many WPIs. Great for your rest days taken an hour or so before bed. Often very economical too, since it is not as well known or popular.
Nah. It's more like 85-95%, depending on the source or blend.
pea protein is horrible
I spent 20 mins and compiled a list of actual protein per dollar, rounded to nearest $.
$31/kg INC Plant Vanilla 2kg (In my experience with other brands, it both tastes bad and has an incomplete amino profile)
$36/kg INC Whey Vanilla 2kg
$38/kg INC Shred Vanilla/Choc 2kg
$39/kg Musashi 100% Whey 2kg (not currently on sale)
$41/kg Vital Strength Hydroxy Vanilla/Choc 3kg
$42/kg INC WPI Vanilla 2kg
$43/kg INC Cassein Vanilla/Choc 2kg
I tried the Vital Strength Hydroxy Choc last time and my sensitive stomach wasn't too happy with how sweet it was (not bad enough to not finish the bag though).
Is there anybody who has tried any of these protein powders on sale and can comment on sweetness/stomach friendliness?
You should include BSc in your list. Their 1.8kg high protein is $49.
Good work. It gets a little more complicated when you factor in absorption rates of different types of protein and each product's unique amino acid profile. But certainly a good place to start.
PS: Pea protein is a complete protein, as in it contains all 9 indispensible amino acids. It sometimes gets a lower quality score (DIAAS) due to lower absorption rates and the limiting amino acid.
INC WPI Vanilla 2kg with 81.9g protein per 100g (ie 81.9% purity):
$69/2 = $34.5 for 1kg
34.5/0.819 = $42.13 for 1kg of 100% protein.
I think that math is correct..
The calculation is right, interpretation is confusing. 1000g/42.13$=23.74g per $.(actual protein per $). The above list is $ per protein kg.
Thanks, can't edit the comment now.
$41/kg BSC High Protein/Shred 1.8kg.
Nice. My go to protein.
I love the cookies and cream flavour
Bought this on the last sale. Vanilla tastes awful.
Edit: the INC WPI
so i guess i'll try the chocolate one then.
bought the vanilla and it tastes great.
if you buy this and it doesn't taste good for you - can you refund in store?
its not like aminoz where if you don't like it they will refund it ?
no
vital strength allows though
also the INC chocolate actually tastes decent as someone who tried 50+ protein powders, shouldn't be an issue
Appreciate it Op, got 4kg.
Was down to my last 1kg bag from AminoZ.
Not in stock at any store close to.me :(
$15 fast delivery
Not sure what the obsession with WPI is, WPC is better for you, less processed and retains more bioactive compounds like immunoglobulins and lactoferrin. The slightly higher fat and carb content of WPC is negligible when looking at overall daily consumption of both macros. No one should be consuming protein powder in amounts where the tiny bit of extra fat and carbs make a difference. If you are consuming that much protein powder, you need to reassess your entire diet and get more protein from real foods.
Big agree. People think they need WPI, then go and make up the difference in calories and macros with half of a mouthful of dinner
what about people that are allergic to lactose?
Yeah the BN price rise makes me consider WPC for my next purchase.
