  • Can I cancel the plan in a month, pay for a month and keep the phone?

    • yes but you will pay full price, T&C's say the discount is spread over the term of the MPP & "Discounted value is not transferable and is forfeited if you cancel the MPP or the Eligible Plan."

      • When I signed up on the phone today I got the rep to state 3 times that it was only the discounted price that needs to be paid out. He was adamant each time. I'm unlikely to switch in the next 2 years, but if I need to, I'll be telling them to check the recording.

This isn't my first rodeo. Always make notes of conversations - date, time, rep name, summary of info. If given information that sounds dodgy make sure it is repeated so they can't claim it was a misunderstanding.

I've probably had $10-15k written off by telcos because of this. About 5k from VF alone.

good on you, I've done well out of telstra in the past due to their incompetence. Despite the T&C's if that is what the rep has told you then I think you are good

        • About 20mins after posting this VF called back. They screwed up. I'm not waiting for a supervisor to call back with a revised deal.

Doesn't sound like a deal if it's not a outright purchase

    iPhone 14 128GB would be $992.46 with a 12 month Plan

    ($524.46 Handset + 468 Plan) spread across one year with 100GB /PM

14 isn’t sold anymore is it? 17 will be here in September or 16s pro plus. I’m not across the apple naming scheme these days.

you might as well just buy a iphone 16e for that. much better phone.

      • I agree that the 16e is a much better phone but where can you get it for $525?

Or are you including the price of the plan as well?

        • You mean 925 because it makes u do a plan

          • @kungfuman: Lol, that is what I was asking you. All good, so you meant the phone + cost.

            👍🏽

The value in purchasing a phone outright is to NOT have to be on a postpaid plan. Don't get how this is a deal.

    • Well depends if people are sim slutting for close to free (which is near impossible now, best you can do is $12-15 a month atm with switching), or happy to pay for a plan

  • This is listed as a sim only plan.
Getting an old phone is one thing. Plenty of unsold 14's as it was a minor upgrade.
Their client portal is dodgy with no logout. But the network is less congested then the big one.
    Funny they refuse fake abn's…
