Norton 360 Multi-Device PC/Mac/Android 1 Year 5 Users 25G Backup $10.00 after Cash Back @ Harvey Norman

21

Went to Harvey for the free Norton 360($50 with $50 cash back). But it's sold out.
The sales there recommended this Multi-device version to me. Let it go $50.00 and promise a $40.00 cash back from Norton. The one I got is an OEM version, but not retail one. But they're exactly the same product.

Think it's a better deal than that free one:
1. Multi-device: PC + Mac + Android, protect all your devices.
Free version PC only
2. 5 Users to Free version 1 user only
3. 25G online storage to 2G online storage

On redemption website http://au.norton.com/now/en/AU_SITE/pu/images/Promotions/201…
It said retail box only eligible. But got cash back promise from the sales when bought it and just went through all the steps of redemption and got confirmation number already.

Redemption before 14/01/2013 included

If you are not getting pay to buy this it is not a bargain.
And you got troll by the hardly normal worker oem version are not qualify for cash back

    • The OP said that he got a confirmation number from it?

    • If it's not valid, you will get this "Sorry, the key you have entered is not for a product participating in this offer." when you do claim it. Go through to the end and get confirmation number means you will get it.

still even with cash back, its not worth $10

        • +1

Wish people would stop posting norton crap. No bargain to be had. Bad software. End of story.

    • +1

Couldn't agree more. I've lost entire hard drives to Norton when I've used it in the past. Never again.

      • Why wouldn't you back up your drives?

        • This was a long time ago, and it was indeed the event that caused me to start backing up religiously.

  • +3

Will they try and sell me a monster cable with it

    • +3

The monster cable would be better value than Nortons at least.

I installed on my slow machine with windows 8, stuffed up the firewall, and need to do a refresh.

Installed on my slow machine with windows 7, slow it down more after using the tune up function and delay startup.

not worth installing if on a slow computer or windows 8 ….

both uninstalled, and waiting for the $50 rebate…. time wasted~

Use MSE, its free, does its job well and doesn't demand attention like all the other bullshit anti-virus programs.

  • This is still a deal, regardless of what people think of Norton. Fine to give your opinion, but is it really neg worthy? Also Norton was really bad a few years back, appalling infact, but the latest release gets reasonable reviews. I assume none of the people giving a neg have any experience with the 2013 version.

    • i am not negging solely base on the fact that norton is bad, its the fact that you and get paid buying this same product that make it not a deal

      • This is Norton 360 not Norton Security. Possibly you have the two products confused? This is a more expensive product and for 5 users. Based on the standard price this is still a bargain. Plus this comes with 25Gb of online storage. I don't believe you get that with the other products.

        • i got my 360 3 user from here mate
          http://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/68407
i actually price match that at office work and got it for $45 so after $60 cash back i got paid $15 for it.
I am not stupid nor do i get the two norton product mix up.

        • Ok, so you negged on this deal due to an 8 month old deal that is no longer available. And you are either using the product today so it can not be that bad. Or you are willing to waste the time to go to a shop by it, install on your machine, apply for the cash back and uninstall it from your PC, then wait for your cashback. Your time must not be worth much - or the product is not as bad as you allege and you are still using it. I think your copy also only came with 5Gb online as opposed to 25Gb, so not the exact same product. AND your version is for PC only where this can work on multiple devices including Android.

No problem with people's emotional feedback, but to neg on a deal based on your reasons does not seem fair to the poster. Your comments with out the neg would have still let the readers know your thoughts.

Apparently someone emotionally hates Norton here. Free is good, but you get what you paid for. MSE is not a comparable software to the Norton 360 MD. It's just a similar products to Norton internet security. At best nearly but not better than that.

But even the Norton internet security is not comparable to the Norton 360 MD. That one just a PC anti-virus software only, but 360 is far more than that. It works on all operating systems plus many valuable add on functions. The Auto customizable online/local back up + online storage only worth more than the price.

I don't know how old the computers someone mentioned. Now I am using this software on my older computer HP6910P(dual core T7500, 2G ram)+ Win XP, Compaq CQ62(AMD AthlonII P320, 2G ram)+ Win7 without any noticeable sacrifice of the speed. At the same time it also runs on my mobile phones Acer S120(800MHz), Sony x10i(1G) and my Toshiba tablet AT100 without any problem.

    • Exactly. People seem to be confusing Norton Security with Norton 360. For Norton 360 this is a good deal. FYI, the Harvey Norman 360 free deal was for one computer and came with only 2Gb of online storage, this is for 5 computers with 25Gb of online storage.

  • People seem to forget that this is OzBargain, not OzReview!
You're supposed to vote if the product is cheaper than you would normally pay, not if you think the product is good or not.
Even neg voting because of a better deal 8 months ago is wrong. Can you get a better deal NOW?? If not, it is a bargain. I'm assuming people know how to look up the meaning of the word if they don't know what it means.
I have been using Norton software since the 80's, with the exception of 2 years. Those 2 years was when Norton really sucked. Since going back to it, I have to say that I cannot fault the products.
People who bag products because of a bad experience many years ago are ignorant.
Do you really think Norton would still be in business if they had not caught or possibly even surpassed the opposition?

    {Rant over.}

    • Only one person has actually negged the deal. There's nothing wrong with discussing the quality of the product itself within the comments section, that's what it's there for.

As a side note, "They're still in business, they must be good" is possibly the worst argument I've ever heard.

      • +1

Giving negative feedback about a product is fine, but in this case it does not look like the deal itself was neg worthy. I have had issues with my piece of $hit iPhone5 which has never worked properly and I had to have it replaced by Apple. Forums are full of people with similar issues, but if I and others went and negged every iPhone deal due to our personal issues or dislike regardless of the deal itself then this site would suffer.

As said leave your negative comments, but only neg if this is not a deal or there are some issues people need to know like a bad supplier. It would seem the guy who negged the deal is actually currently using this product (though a lesser 3 user PC only version), or installed it 8 months ago and uninstalled, so can not give valid feedback on this 5 user 2013 Multi device version.

For those that know and use this product, this may well be a bargain, and based on RRP and non cashback times it looks a good deal. Personally, I think being given an OEM version is a bit dubious, but that is not what the neg was about.

      • Did you understand any of what I said?
deal88 seems to grasp, and agree with what I was saying.
I didn't say not to neg. I meant that if we were all to neg products simply because we don't like them, how difficult would it be to find bargains amongst all the negative comments in OzBargain?
Would you really like to see that?
Besides, if you did a little homework, you would find that the person that negged the deal, has done it on other Norton deals posted here.
I don't want a slanging match, I'm only pointing out what OzBargain is all about.
I could also neg your comment because I don't agree with you, where would it end? Do you see what I mean now?

        • Did you understand any of what I said?

          Ditto.
