First option came up with 2 stops. Ouch.
And those 2 stops in the USA. More ouch…

However - thanks for your posts :)

    • The layover in MSP is only 30 min. I suppose it is just a technical stopover.

      • Will the Yankees fist me and arrest me for Trump memes in that 30 minutes?

        • If you did something they didn’t like, you might worry about CBP at LAX and risk being deported by them.

        • US airport process is third world typically anyway. Any time I've been to a US airport from overseas, I've had to wait for hours for no reason. I'm not sure what anyone sees in that nation, high crime, high homelessness, everything decent is overpriced… i genuinely don't get it.

  • Is it still the case that flights with delta accrue Virgin Australia status credits?

These are really good prices, I am guessing as long as you can transfer air-side in LA / Dallas / Atlanta / Minneapolis you are at low risk of being detained, stripped and forced to spend the night in a federal prison

    • +1

There is no transferring airside in the US of A. You have to go through immigration regardless

      • Good to know, direct flights only if needing to go to Canada.

      • So both ways (AUS > USA > CAN and CAN > USA > AUS) I'd be subject to immigration clearance?

  • +1

Better to find a direct way to Canada through Qantas or Air Canada (albeit more expensive) rather than face the headaches of US immigration

    • But you might win a free trip to South America or Africa!

    • Yes, you will need to pass through immigration but CBP don't bother if you're transiting through US

  • Great prices. Fall is beautiful in Canada.
