It's been that price since March. It even dipped down to $999 at one point. Not really a deal

I suspect all the upvotes are from people like me who thought it said 9070 XT

  • +4

    awaiting 9070xt at $1000 minimum
    and 9070 at $800 minimum

    9070 to take over 7800xt at $800

      but when

    • +3

that's the dream, cant imagine myself spending over 1000 for a graphics card, personally keeping my 6800xt (best gpu for around $500 used) until these 9070's get cheaper

      • I feel you, I bought a 3080 (a high end model) during covid times for $1k used. That it's still worth $600 used over 3 years later and spending $1400 on a 5070ti gives me a 30-50% uplift is bonkers.

        • i got it used recently for $450 best graphics card for the money, 3080's arent bad but 10gb vram is becoming a bottleneck, 40 series 4070 supers and up would make great used cards but their prices are high and they are hard to find. 6800xt can play practically any game at 1440p and achieve 100+fps only issue is bad ray tracing.

      • Grabbed a reference 6900 xt for $540 the other day.

        • good buy, especially when undervolted and overclocked they perform really well and are cost efficient, cant go wrong with amd 16gb card 6000- 7000 series

I have good news for you. If you were waiting for 9070 to be at least $800, then this offer for $1049 is out of this world.

  • +6

as said this is the normal price for a basic 9070, it may be $200 cheaper than a 9070xt but this is not a bargain by any means.

some people here just see 'AMD' and be like 'omg what a deal'

    • +1

I didn't realise this was the non-XT version when posting.

This is the price it usually goes for. It has been available for weeks at this price. Not a deal.

These can be flashed with a bios that brings this up to 9070 XT levels of performance

  • $1049 and you have to do more work to improve it. I'll pass.

    • That’s how it goes with all computer parts? You can get more out of almost any part by OCing it manually.

This card performs pretty well out of the box for the price. The OC is a bonus for those who want to do the work to get it. You don’t have to OC to get good value out of the card

Yes I hate it when I can bios mod a $1049 GPU that allows it to perform within a few percent of a $1799 GPU (5070ti)

      • +1

5070ti's been close to 1300 recently.

        • ATL is $1450, I was using the cheapest in-stock example

  • +2

Available many places at this price.

  • Being able to buy it for RRP is a deal now?
