    • Similiar wording to the visa paywave promo yet existing customers got it. I think if you are an existing customer you merely need to apply for a new account. It wont apply to your existing accounts.

      • Existing users apply through ING Internet banking. It it much faster, but I cannot see any field for "promotional code". Hence I am doubting whether existing ING customers can apply for this.

        • is this correct ^ ?

        • Same here, don't see anywhere to enter the code. I've sent a message to them asking them this question.

        • back when the intro rate was 5.35%, i already had an existing OE account but didn't use the internal sign-up form. i selected "not an existing customer" and got the $50 bonus.

        • Nope, the bonus is only for new customers to the bank. This was the reply I got:

You can certainly take advantage on the welcome rate if you a new customer to the Savings Maximiser. However the $50 bonus is only applicable if you are a new customer to the bank.

          :(

  • Whats the 0.75% bonus interest mentioned in the t's and c's?

    • IIRC that's when you increase the savings by at least $200 each month.

  • Where is the place to enter "BONUS" ?

    • +1

Its on the last page before submitting application

      • OK I will try, thanks.

  • I don't mind what code to get $50 credit, but I couldn't see where to enter it.

    • It is in the last step of the application.

  • Can I close my existing saving's account and sign up?

    • Yes, but then you will lose the 5% Pave and Save.

      • Mmmm, Pave and Save… if only the paving companies would catch onto this one… even better if (Disclaimer: I know it's not everywhere) the staff didnt just show you where the pavers were and stood there while you loaded the back of your car yourself… multiple times!

ME Bank pays 5.10% for a full year or longer, check http://www.ratecity.com.au/savings-accounts/me-bank/online-s…

    • +2

You would need to have more than 50k stashed away for the 0.10% to outweigh the benefit of the $50 bonus.

  • Does anybody know if having like 6 bank accounts in your name is detrimental to your credit rating/anything else?

    • why would it be? you're simply distributing your credit funds as you see fit. there would be no reason to think capitalising on the maximum available bank promotions would indicate a detrimental capacity to service your debt obligations.

    • You can have as many transaction and savings accounts you see fit. These type of accounts never make it to one's credit file.

    • +1

No, apparently it's very commonplace amongst rich people anyway.

  • So there is no requirements to earn the $50? I just need to any amount of deposit into my account and after 4 months I can withdraw all and cancel my account and go back to my other bank?

  • Does anyone know when the $50 will be deposited into the account?

    • I received my first one a couple of days ago.

    • When I made an account with this same promotion (but the last time they did it), it took less than 2 weeks from memory. It's not too long at all.
