[Pre Order] LG UltraGear 49" 240Hz Curved Gaming Monitor with 1ms, FreeSync Premium Pro and HDR1000v $1399 Delivered @ LG

201

I have actually no idea whether this is a good deal.

Shipment start date will be from 9 June 2025 in order.

Looking to spend $1500-$1800 on a monitor - other option is the AW3225QF.

As mentioned in other post:
Basically will be used for work. Sigh, years ago I'd have gotten this to play crysis 2 but now sadly my life has been taken up by kids. Also have started to go slowly blind hence the need for a nicer monitor.

Would this be any good/better than the alienware one?

    LOL

    • It's called Ozbargain, not IzBargain?

  • Sorry-I'm honestly a noob at this. Would this be a good monitor?

What will you be using it for?

Based on the phrasing of your question the answer would be no.

    • I have this monitor, and I'm happy with it. So yeah, I guess so.

  • Is it oled ?

Not understood why this is posted if you don't know if it's a deal. This type of query may be better in the forums or as a comment on an actual deal

You could go Samsung, this is OLED, pricier though, but this place seems fairly decent deal .

  • Dual QHD (5120x1440) for those interested

Don’t trust LG pre orders. They will oversell and cancel orders. See previous LG pre orders on OZB.

The RTINGs review is fairly savage. Lowest score I've seen on a "premium" monitor in a while.

  • For that price I want OLED

Why is this a pre-order? This monitor was released in 2023.

  • Wish the 45" one are at this price.

  • Not interested - but this is $1329 via LG Corporate Hub (can be accessed via Rewards Gateway). I'd personally go for an Samsung Odyssey.

  • Size, Price, refresh rate, all major ticks but if you tried to sell this for the pretend price (false sale here?) of $2799 you would soon have people pointing out it's a VA panel.

OK, so it is designed for you to sit directly in front of, I get it… I am using VA panels myself but that's because two 24's and one 32" in a row cost me under $1k and give remarkable flexibility with 6 HDMI and 3 DP inputs.. (and they're all 144hz).

So… not sure on the audience for this one, basically if you dont mind "smeary" images, I'd have to see if this VA is any better than older ones. I mean is is high refresh right?

    Cons
    Smearing behind fast-moving objects.
Terrible local dimming feature results in noticeable blooming.
Noticeable VRR flicker with changing frame rates.

NAH… under $900 maybe worth it, $1300 is not a bargain.

there are a few OLED displays in the OP's range on sale : LG 34GS95QE-B 33.9inch 240Hz UWQHD OLED Curved Gaming Monitor ($1499) -
Only issue with that one is 800R curve which is VERY tight… not something I could live with.

    or

Samsung Odyssey OLED G8 34" 175Hz UWQHD - $1299 at MWAVE at the moment, a much more agreeable 1800R curve
