Breville Oracle Jet BES985BSS

The Oracle Jet is Breville’s most advanced machine, with full automation for grinding, tamping, and milk texturing. It heats up fast, supports alt milks, and includes helpful features like Barista Guidance and Auto Queue. Cold Brew is included—though it’s more of a gimmick than a game-changer. It costs more than other models, but if you're time-poor and want great coffee with minimal effort, it's the most capable option in the lineup.

Key Features
  • Auto grind, dose & tamp with Baratza burrs (45 settings)
  • Auto MilQ™ with presets for dairy, soy, almond, oat
  • Cold Brew & Cold Espresso modes
  • ThermoJet™ heating system (fast & energy efficient)
  • Barista Guidance for extraction feedback
  • Auto Queue for seamless workflow
  • 58mm portafilter with 22g dose capacity
  • Touchscreen with 10 presets + 20+ custom drinks

  • The Barista Express Impress is still the best one they have released in the last few years

    • Oh i thought ozb fav was bdb

  • Yeah nah. You'd have to have more dollars than sense…

  • I have a second hand Oracle Touch that has been going gang busters for years. What about this is better than that?

The blurb above says the most automation, but looks like it still has the same milk texturing, shot extraction and grinder - and the need to move the portafilter between.

Why do they consider this Jet to be the flagship of the range. I would have assumed the main difference was the thermablock for faster heat up time - but I'm happy with the dual boilers in my Oracle.

    • This is triple thermoblock versus dual boiler. Not sure I'd swap the Oracle Touch for this.

It's probably more feedback on what the clients wanted, a faster heat up time similar to the Bambino

  • The original price was $3,899.00? $400 more than the rrp.

  • I’d buy you the machine for 440k points 😂 dm me id do it

  • +1

I can never understand spending thousands on a Breville….

If I am in the position to invest a few thousand dollars on my coffee setting, I would rather buy La Marzocco.

Now just waiting for my Lotto win next Tuesday.

    • +1

becoz the cheapest La Marzocco is doubled the price of this one and doesn't come with a grinder???

BTW, for the same money, I would suggest buying a Bambino (plus) or any machine with PID, OPV and manual extraction mode. Then use the rest for a good grinder.

Those high end Breville espresso machines don't really improve your espresso

  • Is cold brew used to make ice coffee?

    • Just brew a shot, add some vanilla syrup, pour milk and then add ice.
No need for a cold brew function
