Where does the $50 come from? rate payers?

    • +18

      Probably from parking fines

      • Or that new redlight camera

        • -1

Jacinta takes that to give to the CFMEU

      • Probably from parking fines

This actually works out well for ratepayers, who get a free parking permit, so all the parking fines would be from non-ratepayers.

My council better not blow money like this

    • -1

So, what would be the benefit to you?

      • +1

Rates already going up fast enough

        • +2

My council doesn’t waste money like this, but our rates still go up more than other councils'.

          • +4

@jimojr: Nor does mine. It just goes in the pockets of the corrupt ones

    • +4

I'm in Hobsons Bay but they seem to do a lot more with the rate money than what I see my relos get in Glen Eira and "Moreland" councils.

I remember when all this sort of stuff was happening all over when the lockdowns were first ending.

God I (genuinely though) miss lockdown lmao

    • Me too!

I still remember in Melbourne. the council provided 20% cash back then some app like liven can provide 100% bonus if I top up money in a specific restaurant. Which mean I finish my dinner every day with 30% of the price only.

So Daniel Andrews is running this council…

    • +2

Is that JVs ghost 👻 account

    • -2

If Dan Andrews was running it there would be a 20% levy imposed on the business and customers would be fined $200 to visit it.

Combine with EatClub discount if you a gangsta

    • Wonder any restrictions for doing that?

    • Any recommendations?

      • My fav restaurant in Williamstown Saikyo isn’t on the list but I would recommend The Nandos next to it, which is on the list :)

    Rebates remaining: 600

  • Typical Hobsons Bay - half-assed half-baked effort. Capped at 600 vouchers, so only like $30,000 program.
Happy to take the rates, not so keen to do anything to make the ghetto better. Dog $hit council, toxic workplace that actively avoids doing anything. Blocked stormwater, horrible public pool and dumped rubbish everywhere.
