          • @MS Paint: MyCar offer T&C's do mention that its off RRP

  • -1

The deal is not that good, I was looking for my camry 215/60 r16 and tyroola was almost the same price as mycar 50% discount, without website crashes and long wait on a phone call.

    • tyroola doesn't include fitting price unless you factored that in as well

      • I factored that in and it was still cheaper than mycar. Mycar's only advantage is you get 1 year of RSA.

FYI for anyone considering this deal Pirelli is now owned by China/CCP

    • +1

It's rubber, unless there's fancy microchips in there, it's hardly a risk worth noting. They still perform really well.

      • +7

It's where the money ends up, not whether 6G is being broadcast into your head.

    • +1

Tesla, Iphone also made in China, what is your point?

    • Yeah! It is definitely a national security risk!

Gotta love Australia. Exactly the same situation as Canada. Targeting China whilst getting bent over from behind by the US with no other alternative.

  • Can we price match this somewhere? Bob Jane? Supercheap?

  • They're clearly just flogging old stock

  • Tihis probably does not include wheel balancing. Prices are definitely jacked up.

    • +1

The standard inclusions include wheel balancing. Unless the offer specifically excludes it.

    • +1

Free standard wheel balancing and tubeless valve

  • Well technically it does work out $7 cheaper a tyre that other stores for me but that's not even a 2% discount! Not a bargain.
Looks like Mycar's normal price 39% more expensive than other tyre stores. Shame I was waiting for a good deal on tyres.

    • +1

What other stores have their prices almost as cheap as this? I would be surprised if retailers are selling normally at 40 per cent off the rrp.

  • -5

If I drive past MYcar in Phillip ACT, they want to replace my tyres. I am not surprised that their so called 40% off is just 1% off other stores normal prices.

Any recommends for run flats for BMW 320i?

    • +4

      Yeah, sell your BMW.

      • Even if it's an MSport with all the bells and whistles?

    • I don't own 320i but depending on the size, your options are most likely either PZero or Cinturato. The first focuses on handling/performance while the latter on comfort/efficiency. If price difference isn't too much, I'd go with PZero.

      • Couldn't find any suitable run flats, so car will need get towed or someone needs to bring spare tyre everytime there's a puncture

        • Yeh mine's out of stock too - gotta wait for Tyroola I guess. From what I read, there's actually an option to purchase aftermarket space saver spare tyres for BMW (if you don't mind losing the space in your boot)

        • so car will need get towed or someone needs to bring spare tyre everytime there's a puncture

Why not use a tyre sealant for small punctures?

  • I disappointed with the Pirelli tyres performance. significant road noise since fitting and uneven wear (not between wheels) which made the noise worse within two years of purchase.

    • Which model of pirelli?

      • Scorpion

  • Any promotion on car service?

  • +2

    bait advertising much.

    https://www.accc.gov.au/consumers/advertising-and-promotions…

Bait advertising is the practice of promoting prices, often ‘sale’ prices, on products that are:

    not available, or
available only in very limited quantities.

    Perfect timing. Needed new tyres.

Booked in for Wednesday with my local mycar for a full set of Powergy's. Thanks OP.

    • +1

Bought 4x new Powergy's for my mother's small SUV a month ago.
So far nothing but positive feedback, much quieter than old Kuhmo tyres and wet grip during recent sydney rains have been fantastic.

  • Even with discount off RRP, it’s the cheapest Pirelli fitted at the moment.
I think I’ll get two now, and two in Nov when they have a slightly bigger sale

  • Do you have to pay any extra for the Tyre Care Plan ?

  • I've never replaced tires before, but I assume the price for a tyre is all inclusive right and there's nothing extra to pay apart from however many tyres you want?

    • +1

Normally wheel alignments are extra, but wheel balance and old tyre disposals are included.

  • +4

Yeah Costco still cheaper at full price 😂 gotta love the Jack Attack 🙄

    • I was waiting for someone to comment on Costco pricing. What is their range like as it has been quite a few years since I was a member. You would still save with the membership cost right?

      • +1

For my size they have Michelin and Bridgestone at Ardeer, so decent quality. Not much cheaper but still a saving

      • +1

If you're a hotdog lover like myself, you'll make that money back in no time with their $2 hotdogs at the food court

  • Doesn't look like I can find in stock for my 23 Mazda CX-3? Mechanic said new tires needed.

  • +1

Gotta say, I love the new customer queue system their website host implemented.
All major retailers should do this when they run a sale online

    YOU ARE IN THE QUEUE
You are now in the queue for the mycar Tyre & Auto Pirelli sale!
Please hold tight, and you'll be granted access to the exclusive offer as soon as it's your turn.

When it is your turn, you will have 15 minutes to enter the website.

Number of users in line ahead of you: 34
Expected arrival time on the website: 12:09 AM
Your estimated wait time is: less than a minute

  • Shame all the date and times are from the 16th June. I checked like 5 stores and all the same.

    • Are you in a hurry to change tyres mate?
If you don't mind holding out they say as long as you purchase them online or over the phone and have them fitted before 30 June 2025 you'll get the 40%.

      • Yeh my pink slip expires next week and will need new tyres to pass the inspection. Let's see how good Bob Jane's price match policy is…

  • -3

Thank you for posting the offer but I'd never again buy Pirelli tyres after the 2 experiences in my life that I've had with them, just like I would not allow any brand of tyre that is Made in china to be put on my car.

    • +1

      Care to elaborate?

  • +1

What does stock limited mean? I can't add Pirelli tires to my booking and need to call the number…

    • +1

Hello! If the website is displaying limited stock it means that there is no stock of that particular tyre online at the selected location, if you call our Call Centre they may be able to order it in for you.

      • +1

Thank you but your phone lines a consistently placing me on long hold. Tried 3 stores already.

      • +2

Thank you I waited 30 minutes and got through to my local store and all booked in now including wheel allignment.

  • +2

Just bought 5 at $201 per tyre fitted. Not too bad.

  • +1

Called my the glen store/Brandon park store and on hold for 20 min. Then called Kmart store and was told they can't order the tire because it's not on their system, even though I can clearly see it on the website. What is going on? https://www.mycar.com.au/tyres/size/235-45R20

  • Did anyone have luck getting through by calling in? I have been on hold for 15 minutes already after calling in as the website asked me to call them as it shows limited availability online.

    • +2

Yes after 30 minutes eventually got through and got the tires I needed.

  • +1

    Ordered and paid online !
Cheapest Pirelli tyres at the moment

  • You've got the Scorpion for my ute, I'm truly surprised. I'm in no hurry for a new set of tyres but will probably do it this time next year.

  • +2

Price jacked and not that competitive after discount. $359 for 225/40/19 P Zero PZ4 when I can get Pilot Sport 5 for $388 elsewhere. Rather spend extra and get Michelin than jump on this price jacked offer that I also need to rush to get fitted.

  • Jacked up prices for sure from what I can see for my car tyres. Still a bit cheaper, though only by a few bucks LOL

  • +1

Pz4 225/40/18 at 215 each, cheaper than tempe tyres at 250. Bought to get fitted at end of month

  • Do people still get wheel alignment done when replacing all 4 tyres? My car doesnt drift to the side or anything and I still managed to get 55K from last set I replaced last month with no wheel alignment done during its lifetime. Just wondering if a wheel alignment would've helped in any meaningful way to get the tyures to maybe 70K?

    • If your car tracks straight and your tyres are wearing/ worn evenly, then no I wouldn’t get a wheel alignment.

  • Hodl for Michelin ps5

    • Personally am waiting for the Bridgestone Series X

    • You waiting for the PS5 to go on sale or for them to release it in your size?

      • To go on sale. I have ps5s on the rear but still running 5 year old 40,000km ps4 up front

        • +1

Michelin primacy 5 is either out of stock or absurdly overpriced if you can find them. I gave up on them after a few months calling around hoping to get them at an uninflated price

        • Let me know when the PS5 goes on sale.

My set up may be exactly like yours.

I'm going to replace my PS4 on the rears and keep the PS4 on the front. That reminds me I should rotate my tyres.

  • Sus

  • Almost no stock. Went in to my local mycar and the reception was flabbergasted on how low their stock is this time around.

Jax price matched though & booked with them.

    • I booked in and they said they will have stock in time thankfully

    • Just wanted to note that the receptionist I spoke to was highly sceptical that they could even fulfil orders that show stock on hand.

I suppose this serves as a 'buyer beware' warning.

  • Saw in the feedback that the Scorpions dont last as long in general as OEM tyres. I can get a set of very basic BF Goodrich Control tyres from Costco for a tiny bit lower in price.
Which should last longer in general opinion? Only really interested in durability between the Scorpions Verde and the Advantage Control

  • I'm seeing the full price at checkout. Put in dummy details and went right to the pay stage, it's still the $499 price per tyre.

Other places like Tyroola are $389each

    • +1

The cheapest fitting I could get with tyroola was $150, so keep an eye on that

  • Placed an order via 131328, they wouldn't take payment over the phone (I specifically asked if they want payment over the phone to lock in the price, they responded no). Received an email soon after with a quote attached, which states the quoted price is valid for 7 days only. Rang the store, they're not happy with the call centre as it seems payment should have been taken, and they state they're unable to take payment over the phone (the store that is). Short time later, tyres confirmed ordered and should be there for my booked appointment (28th June), although I am concerned that the price may not be honoured (why is it so hard to give them my money). A bit of a schmozzle so far, hopefully all turns out ok.

    • +1

Same, perhaps I'll stop by the store to make the payment before the 7 days rule mentioned on the quote to avoid surprising excusees on the day

      • +1

Might be a good idea to do that.

Fwiw, I've checked their T's and C's for this promo, it doesn't specifically state that it needs to be paid for today, so if you can't get into the store you could use that to justify the price being honoured.

        • +1

Thanks for checking and sharing the TnC

    • +1

i dont think you need to make payment today ?

      • Hopefully not, the quote sent through states the pricing given is guaranteed for 7 days only. But the T's and C's don't stipulate payment required today 🤷

        • +2

following this up i went in store to the mycar that i booked my tyre change in towards end of the month. ( made booking over phone initially)

the guy said no problems no need to pay now the pricing is secured.

I've read the TnC again from the mycar site I couldn't find anything mentioning you need to pay today. it just states need to make the booking today

          • @arman1201: That's great, thanks mate for the update, gives a bit of reassurance.

  • +1

Booked and paid for 2 tyres online, install next Friday. $115 for Perelli's installed is cheaper than some of the absolute cheapest tyres some other places quoted

  • I was told on the phone that Scorpion Verde is discontinued, although it's available on the website, and I was recommended another Pirelli tyre. From this thread, I learnt that sometimes they just say something that isn't true. So I am doubting whether it's really discontinued or there could be another reason, like they just want to bump the sales of other tyres.

    • Just got a confirmation, Scorpion verde for my car size has sold out, hence they're pushing to MS. Tho they still should be honest on why instead of mentioning it's discontinued

  • Anyone to get booking prior than 16th June.

  • Those who ordered on the phone, how did you get confirmation of your order? Via email?

    • +3

      Yeh via email. A quotation.

      • I placed order over the phone but they didn't ask for email, not sure if my order is valid

  • Parramatta MyCar T&A booked me in for 225/65R17 102H Scorpion for $740 (I took 4 because they included the wheel alignment for free of charge). I could not book online, so went to the shop in person to make the booking. They will do it end of this month. ). All good.

  • I wonder why MyCar are discounting/pushing Pirelli and not other brands?

Especially when MyCar is owned my Continental.
