Tested and confirmed code works for the console

If you add just the console, the code wouldn’t work. A workaround is to add $199 worth of other items and the Nintendo Switch 2 console, and then remove the others after you have added the code at checkout

Enjoy!

  • Here we go!

  • Wow nice!

  • -1

Doesn't work anymore: "Ineligible products in cart"

    • +7

Confirmed still works. I added an air fryer, and then clicked on pre order for the Switch 2 console.

Typed the code in, removed the air fryer, and the $30 off code remains

      • +4

I added two preorder games, then the coupon and it worked. Then added the Switch 2 and removed the games and code still works.

  • How do you add the Switch 2 to your cart? I'm only seeing a "Add to wishlist" button on there.

    • Pre order button is still there for me

      • +2

For some reason not available in TAS and QLD.

        • Yep, tried a gazillion stores in QLD and all says add to wishlist.

  • -3

    Normal price?

    • +4

No, this is not the normal price. It’s a bargain.

  • can you stack with topcashback for extra 4%?

  • -5

fake news, can't add to card. Only option is 'add to wishlist'

  • +1

Works for preorder games. No cart mucking around needed

    • Thanks, that also worked.

  • Says it won't deliver to my address on the GC. Really weird

  • Stupid question. Where the F I put in the code?

    • checkout

  • -3

does it come with any games preloaded?

    • NO

      • thanks OP, ordered the bundle.

  • Whoever reported as expired/sold out, it still works as of 11:51am AEST

I’d kindly request on reading OP’s description first

  • -1

    Ineligible product for console

    • +1

You need to add another $199 item(s) first, then add the console, and then apply the code. After that you can remove the non-console related items, and the code will stay

      • +1

        I think they fixed it

        • Nope, still working for me. I even cleared my cart and readding the items back whenever someone says it isn’t working

          • -1

@BargainsGrabber: I tried. It doesn’t work for me

            • @spc12go: Did you follow these steps:

              1. Add the Russell Hobbs air fryer
              2. Add the Nintendo Switch 2 console
              3. Type the THIRTY code at checkout
              4. Remove the Russell Hobbs air fryer
              5. $30 off code will stay
              • -1

                @BargainsGrabber: Doesn't work

                • @BriefNexus: All good. Need to fill the cart up applied the code first.

Then add switch then remove others.

                  • @spc12go: Yup, since the code has a $199 minimum spend for it to work. Hence why I have linked a $199 air fryer :)

                • @BriefNexus: It’s still working as of 12:05pm. Did you follow those steps and add a bunch of items totalling $199, excluding the Nintendo Switch 2?
Your base cart needs to be $199+ first, then you add the Nintendo Switch 2. Code should still stay

  • +2

Buy 7% off eb GC worked out cheaper anyway? At $650

    • Yep, I only got 5% off EB Gift Cards, and it's still cheaper than this at $664.

    • Got the 10% Sanity deal back 2 months ago…so should be dispatching soon, I hope…

    • Can I ask where you got the 7% off gift cards?

  • +2

This is a pretty cool way of getting the switch by itself + physical Mario Kart for only $10 more than it would be for the bundle at RRP.

    • Mario Kart is one of those games that can stay on the console to save inserting a cartridge. Its a game that almost everyone can enjoy.

It's game that you would never sell unless you are really need to.

All others… best be physical if you can.

  • You can buy wish gift card 5% off and use that too for further discounts. Works out $635

On the Switch Australia group some people who preoredered on Amazon have their consoles already.

    • On facebook? Which group

      • Just search for switch Australia group, it'll be the one with the most members, and the guy who got his switch 2 early from Amazon the top post.

    • Yes please do tell where I can read about this please

      • Looks like the post has been deleted. It was definitely a photo of a bubble wrapped Switch 2 in someone's home, with a claim that Amazon sent it early. There's other reports of people getting it early overseas too with photos.

  • +2

Thanks OP! Put a PP claim in on my 28 Degrees card!

    • Do they accept prices after using a discount code? I've had PP for years and if so I can't imagine just how many more claims I've missed out on…

      • Yes they do, I submitted plenty over the years.

  • I'd do this if they would accept pickup…

  • Annoying can’t pre order cyberpunk

  • +1

Thanks. Bought it with the method of removing stuff after. I also re-used the code (log out of account first), added random items that need up eligible (then removed), for extra games and accessories at 30 dollar discount. Ended up 225 (before 255), better than giving them the monies.

This is the reason why INTERNET is not for everyone. FFS basic instruction and finding it too miserable for them to follow. LOL

    • LOL

  • +1

Still buy gift card from Coles and grab one at JB for 10% is better. Yes, a bit more leg work.

    • Agree from a pure cost basis there are better options. In terms of CBF, this Big W is a pretty good way with minimal effort.

    • How can you do to have the 10% from Coles on a gift card please ?

  • Managed to get it all added but wont allow home delivery or pickup…

  • +1

Work with Macquarie Marketplace Big W GC to get another 4.5% off.

  • Grabbed Pokemon Legends: Z-A and Ghost of Yōtei with a $2 item for $170 happy with that

    • -1

I did with Pokemon Legends: Z-A and Switch 2 pro controller for $178, but still seem overpriced to me… -_-

      • Yea I'm not a fan of the new game pricing, but I want to play the games and the way pokemon games always go we likely wont see the switch 2 version go under $80 for 2 years

  • If only Everyday Rewards didn't discontinue the F-ing 10% off code… I reckon the same workaround would have worked!

  • Can't get add it to my cart. Does anyone have a screenshot of the Mario kart bundle with the discount?

  • I think they may have patched it.

  • Not working any more sadly.

  • Not working anymore.

  • Gahhhh been trying to proceed with checkout but I think they've killed the deal :(

  • +3

Yep this seems patched. Big W must have someone browsing Ozbargain lmfao!

I added the switch and some air fryer over $200. The code applies then I remove the air fryer and the price of the switch 2 remains at it's normal price.
Big W caught onto this instantly.

Not sure why they are not letting people use this on the switch 2 is Fing stupid honestly.

If anyone did this don't be surprised if Big W cancels your order LOL.

    • +1

I wouldn't be suprised if they use AI

      • -1

Yeah sadly… everything these days is using AI.

How in the F did we as a human race go so low? We were doing great without AI and I thought we were gonna get even better but now all I hear is "AI is taking jobs" "AI is making tasks easier" "AI is helping with medical research" "AI" "AI" "AI"… Are we seriously so dumb now?

I don't think Nintendo are doing any favours with their high prices with this model and games.
I am not a fan of this feature either (source ChatGPT): The Nintendo Switch 2 uses physical cartridges for games, but not all cartridges will contain the full game data. Nintendo is introducing "Game Key Cards," which are essentially cartridges that act as a key to download the game from the Nintendo eShop. This means that some physical games will require a download of the game data after inserting the cartridge

Don't see it as a big deal, it's been happening on other consoles for at least 2 generations. Switch 1 already had physical packaging which was just a download code too.

      • I seriously don't understand that. What is the point in putting a download code inside of packaging? We live in a country where the Government hates Plastic yet here we have Nintendo putting download codes inside plastic packaging.

        • Retailers with a shopfront want something to put on the shelf and the publisher doesn't want to buy cartridges from Nintendo

    • It's better than a download code because you can share the game card.

      • You can do that with download codes too, just need to share the virtual game card

        • Can't trade in or sell a virtual game card.

    • ChatGPT's knowledge is often only valid up until a cutoff date which can be a year or more back. It's useful but you need to understand its limitations to use it well.

    3 more days people!!!

  • +1

Not sure if it is worth to upgrade to Switch 2.

Don't have friends for party games.

    • +2

Same. I only got the switch 2 due to Mario Kart World having Open World and the new Donkey Kong Banaza game.

There's another Nintendo Direct coming within a couple of days that's gonna showcase more games. Maybe something will be shown that interests you?

    • Better off buying it when there's more games for it. Probably get it a bit cheaper by then as well

      • +2

        These days, that’s unfortunately unlikely.

PS5 has gone up twice since release. Xbox has gone up once.

  • Anyone know if bigw are still putting those horrible stickers on games?

    • Yes they do

      • Thanks, I’ll continue to avoid them for games then

  • Just a heads up that if anyone is still looking, shopback have 5% upsized cashback for JB giftcards atm, so it'd be $35 off just the base console. Mother wanted a copy to play mario kart with her nieces/nephews and ended up buying a copy this way last minute via $800 gc.

No idea if this was the best possible offer atm, but found it via the press start website, who also had a $20 for first $10 spent code for new registers. So total was: $808 - (800*.5) - 20 = 748 for the bundle and the official carry case + screen protector.

Edit. Cashback tracked, passed, and withdrawn.

    • 10% Ultimate Gift Cards tomorrow would have been better
