I had the same experience and then did a little chatgpt research… Apparently, Hush puppies pakistan are one of the biggest factories in hushpuppies global setup.. and to be honest my experience with made in pakistan hush puppies have been alright
you hurt many feelings… lol
Their defence capabilities seem about on par with Palestine. Hope their boot manufacturing is better.
Yes they are very good at producing few Osama Bin Ladens…I think Indians made few holes in Pakistan's bu*t recently!
Love these shoez
So uncomfortable
Surprised by the downvotes. Hush puppies used to make their shoes very comfortable but nowadays the soles in particular feel like they have zero support and barley and sponginess. I had to add insoles to essentially get them fell like they did years ago. They still look good at least.
Indeed. Peple cant handle the truth. Shoes have to be comfortable first, looks second
I would agree with you but I use an orthopedic innersole so makes it a good boot becuae it is a roomy fit.
The roomy fit certainly makes getting innersoles easy but it’s a shame they couldn’t just keep making decent innersoles by default.
I want to do the same. Do you know which ones you use? Do they fit well into the shoes above the innersole or did you remove the shoes innersole and replaced with ortho one?
@Savesome: For innersoles I used theinsolestore.com to find the best one for my fit and condition, then I found a local supplier of the same one.
These just went over the top of the existing sole but mostly i have to remove the factory innersole to fit my Own.
@Savesome: Yes, actually the most confortable footware i own is my Redback work boots and they ship their boots with an innersole. WHy not just make it like that? The only reasoon i can think of is it gives you a choice if you have an orthotic of your own.
You had me at 69
giggity
Only cheaper in size 7 & 8
OP's link was size 8 so I didn't really go further.
For some reason I only paid $81.99… It says promotion in the order line but I can't for the life of me figure out what for lol
$5 amazon credit from GC
Maybe buy I never input any code etc
I don't mind the fit of the Hush Puppies I've bought but all the leather cracks after 6 months. Every other leather shoe I've had never cracked like that.
Got these last time, really impressed for the price
Same just purchased the another pair in a different colour, although I love the Mahogany ones I already have
Are these true to size? I am thinking of measuring my foot size in cm (using a paper and ruler) and then converting it to a US size to get the right shoes.
Yeah I measured. Turned out 1 size below my usual.
The Wisconsin specify it is "Genuine burnished leather uppers" at $87
These dont mention that in the description
These are my daily drivers. Wear the black ones all day, all week. Easily the most comfortable dress shoes I've ever owned. Bought the other brown finishes as well.
I assumed they only look good with tight trousers, but pulling it off in a dress is quite the achievement.
dw balls i understand your dry humour :)
(assuming it was dry humour and youre not being serious)
Hmm.. maybe years ago they would have been the most comfortable but certainly not anymore. But if they genuinely feel nice for you, I’m glad.
I was going to say. My bared's shit all over these.
Is Mahogany or Tan easier to style with?
Both are a good option, I find the black to be the harder style to mix with.
I wear this exact Mahogany pair with black chinos and they pair well with both casual and more formal shirts

Dont.. you have other shoes? Look inside for the tag. Then you can size down half a size if you want to leather to stretch a bit to mould around your foot
US sizes are exactly one full size larger than UK/Australian sizes; the only difference between them is where they start Size 0 from. So if you know your Australian size you know your US size.
Each size goes up a barleycorn in length. I kid you not - it's a real unit of measure; a barleycorn is one third of an inch (8.47mm). It's another bizarre little fact to impress girls with at parties …
depends on what other leather accessories you have. brown belt? then brown shoes. black belt? black shoes. etc. a very simple and clean method.
you can try mixing leather and making a chocolate and vanilla look but for most the one consistent colour is easiest to pull off
When you said style, I instantly knew you were from Melbourne lol
What's a brand that has the closest fit to these?
I find these very comfortable but my pair that's almost 1 year old is very scuffed on the toes and was already hard to fix up last year. Not sure if spending $75-90 a year on this boot is a good idea, but I take the tram so a nicer pair of shoes or boots might be an even worse idea.
Blundstone 659 and 663. They are more comfortable than the Hush Puppies because the soles are thicker. It also feels more supportive. Just that the Blundstones are 2x the price but they last longer.
As someone who has spent probably close to $600 over a few years for Blundstone, I’m not that impressed with them tbh. I will say the 787 is literally the only steel cap I’ve come across that can take me from the smoko room to the warehouse to site to the pub to the boardroom. Unfortunately they scuff very easily and developed a break between the steel cap and sole allowing heaps of water in when walking in water logged grass or muddy work sites..
You've owned the 659 or 663?
@lomie: Currently I have 659 in the brown (wearing them literally right now) - and also wear 787 in the black.
this is great, why would you even buy rm williams when you get the exact same thing for so much cheaper.
the exact same thing
Oh boy, this has to be bait. Not even close - enjoy the cement construction.
Most people buying RM Williams these days are going to be kicking some cables underneath their office desk for 99% of the time they are wearing them.
IKR they should totally be wrangling cables in the outback wearing these shoes.
What else would one do in them? boots like the craftsman are dress boots not work boots.
They do make a few Work boots but by and large most of their boots are dress boots.
Have mad respect to the few corporate bros not wearing RM’s these days..
Respect for what? Wearing worse shoes? If they're in welted shoes/boots great, but respecting people buying cheap shit because you don't like RM's is laughable.
Are these true to size? I am thinking of measuring my foot size in cm (using a paper and ruler) and then converting it to a US size to get the right shoes.
Absolutely not. I ordered three different pairs after using their size guide and had to return them all, they were WAY too big.
I am normally US11 with sneakers but when I ordered US11 in these my feet literally moved around inside. Had to return them and might purchase half to full size smaller.
I’m a big fan of the Mongrel “seconds”. Similar price and harder wearing
https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/234780475533
Australian made and they often have black and brown available
Any sizing quirks on these?
Definitely weirdly sized - go try them on before buying.
I had to drop down half a size from my AU/UK size
Harbour lace up ankle boots 50% off too. I literally bought these for $149.95 the other day (still unopened) so back they go. Grabbed a pair at $98.99 on sale. Thanks OP!
Real Estate agent approved ….comes with free too-tight RM Williams jeans.
Note these are quite a wide fit and will not suit all feet. My one are not comfortable due to this..
See description
Bounce Tech for shock absorption and energy return.
Lightweight construction for no foot-fatigue.
Supportive contoured footbed with arch support.
Elastic gussets for natural movement and a personal fit.
Pull-tab for easy fitting
Our standard EE wide fit.
The underside worries me. Is that hard plastic or has some rubber like material? Not so sure what kind of grip it provides on rainy days / wet tiles etc
I sometimes think final destination things too
😬
Today it rained in Melbourne and the grip was fantastic on those hazardous bluestone blocks covered in autumn leaves. It won't save you from the leaves but I twisted a bit on the blocks and it was solid.
I saw the guy walking downhill in front of my almost slip 3-4 times in likely leather shoes, while many others were carefully walking slowly.
Thanks that’s real life test. I’ve slipped couple times in the past unexpectedly on those bluestone blocks just outside parliament station 🤣
Does it leak water inside when stepping on puddles etc.
Yeah the grip is rock solid. I was really trying to break contact when testing but just couldn't.
I haven't gotten my feet wet in these shoes. I don't try to avoid shallow sheets of water, but I avoid the more obvious puddles because of the elastic sides.
They are functionally good, but after 1 year mine already look very scuffed and a bit stained. They already looked scuffed a few months in despite my attempts at maintaining them. I don't think they'll last any more than another 6-12 months for me as they'll look obviously terrible.
Just throwing in an extra comment regarding fit. I find these shoes a true 2E size. I have 2E feet and did not have to go up 1-2 sizes in these. I ordered the Hush Puppies Wisconsin this week and those are certainly a regular D width (or even narrower) and don't fit me in the same nominal size. The description is lacking for this, as Iconic has them listed as "EE" fit but David Jones names them as "Wisconsin Narrow Chelsea Boot".
@Trysaeder: Thanks for the info again. I ordered the Wisconsin-style pair mentioned in the other thread, and they showed up yesterday. First impressions are good — the fit and finish seem pretty decent, and the insole feels a lot more forgiving than a JM pair I picked up a few years ago.
I’m not expecting them to last forever, but if they can hold up for a year or 2 or so of in-office wear — and more importantly, not send me slipping and breaking something on a rainy day — I’ll be more than happy 😄
I must have wide feet because whenever I order shoes online they cramp from the sides, no matter what size.
I have a pair of these. Too tight for wide feet unless you size up alot.
Are you 2e or 4e wide?
One comment saying quite a wide fit and another saying not suitable for wide feet. Shrug.
Ditto. Bought two in my size and they're painful.
These are squeaky af in smooth surfaces though. Clown shoe level squeaks.
These boots are great for the initial few months of daily wear. No need to break them in either, very comfortable. I found after a while they started to fall apart, maybe qc issues?
Ended up upgrading to Oxford Goodyear welted Chelsea boots instead
Can anyone recommend a good shoe polish for mahogany?
spit
cum
Rubbish shoes. Don't bother.
i think its pretty alright
Be aware that sizing on these is a guessing game. I measured my feet and used their size guide and received three different pairs of shoes that were all way too big and had to be returned.
no biggy - i had to do that too
No biggy unless you wait 2 weeks for them to arrive and then by the time you work out they're too big the sale is over or your actual size is unavailable. Worse still if you paid with Amazon gift cards and now you've got a refund to your Amazon account rather than to your bank account.
Should we order 3 sizes - one less , one exact and one big and try and then return the other two?
@Ankit4632: Yep, not the worst idea. Just don't use gift cards unless you're ok with the refunds going back to your Amazon account rather than bank account.
well yeah can't do anything about that, i bought amazon gift card to buy an iphone, had an issue but redunded back as credit to my account which i can't get back to my bank account sadly. so now i'm just buying amazon stuff over time and using this credit as can't do much about that
@prankster: Yeah that's the risk hey. It wasn't so bad when I was shopping at Amazon all the time but I'm trying to boycott them as much as possible these days.
I have plantar fasciitis - any recommendations?
Speak to a podiatrist
See a good physio
i just got mine….i a bit on the bigger side, but i reckon a size down might be a bit too tight.
Overall happy with the quality upon inital inspection, now to see how long they will last
Anything over size 11 is $110.67
These definitely run large. I had to return and reorder a size down.
My usual sneaker size is US 10.5, ordered US 8.5 according to their size guide, and it was too tight. Going to return and get a size up, US 9.5 this time.
Made in pakistan??? I had instances int eh past where they sent made in pakistan Hush puppies.
