  Travelling this saturday for 6 weeks in UK/EU. Need data/calls/text, so can't have a data only esim. Looks like the Orange option is good for esim with voice/SMS. Is that the best option? I'm happy to register my passport. After 30 days when it runs out, is there an option to extend? Can the Orange travel app (or something else) be used to manage this esim to extend etc? Would probably get the 100GB option to start with which should be more than enough.

    For the Orange eSIM you do not need to register, the only other that has calls/text would be the Vodafone eSIM.

    With these local ones we are unable to guarantee what happens if you recharge as we only sell the plan as is - but it is possible to recharge.

    We will have 45 days data only plans if you can wait, especially if you are travelling more than 1 person, usually having 1 that can calls/text is enough.

    In the future we may be able to implement this feature to some products, however it is not possible at the moment.

    Also note that the ones with "calls" are usually local SIMs which you can "probably" recharge, but we cannot guarantee or assist with the recharge.

  I purchased 4 of these for my recent family trip to Japan. 3 of the 4 worked well but mine failed a number of times, lost all connection despite having the newest phone and being in the same spot as the others. I contacted support who were great at replying through whatsapp chat but could not fix the problem.

  I believe I figured it out at the end. I had the NordVPN app on my phone and although it was not set to auto connect it sometimes did (even though I saw no symbol showing it was connected when I dived into settings it showed vpn on). I believe when this happened it killed my connection. I removed the vpn app and the problem did not return. I could be wrong (and happy to be corrected) but if you have a vpn on your phone this may help you if you have the same problem.

    Hey there!

    Generally VPN does not affect our eSIM usage, however there is definitely some cases where the VPN does interfere with the connection. In your case 100% it was due to NordVPN. In saying that we find that once the VPN profile is deleted, you can reinstall it again no problem.

    Our CS should be able to pin point that issue though, strange they that didn't, if you don't mind DM-ing me your live chat (FB / WA) we can review so that we can provide better training for our cs staff.

  I would love some insight into the coverage & speed comparisons to help decide.

  I'll be visiting Athens, Paros, Santorini, Naxos, Italy, France & Spain if that helps.

    We have used Vodafone one personally and would probably recommend that one especially since you are going to Spain.

    Orange can be a hit and miss for their calls

    3 Network is recommended when you also go to the UK

    Generally coverage and speed are fairly similar though

      Thanks I looked at those. Orange's partners in Fiji only have 3G support and they limit data. Not sure it would even work..

  We're going to EU and UK in September. The coverage in the Scottish highlands is not great except for EE network. Do you have anything that uses their network? I had a look but thought I'd double check.

    According to Orange website they support "T-Mobile UK" which is now "EE"

  Have bought from them a few times. Just used Asia 5G eSIM 10 Countries 20GB & 10GB in Singapore and Japan. Activated them before we left and worked instantly when we landed. Got 5G most of the time, 4G+ in some areas. Always had connection. Very happy. On a previous trip to Japan I got the Japan eSim but with the great result from the Asia eSim I will get that again.

  Hi Anton, I'm travelling to China and looking at either the "China 5G simcard" or "China HK Macau 5G simcard". The latter is obviously more value as it also works in HK and Macau (useful if I decide to pay a visit to HK) but for China only, I'm after the 50g versions which cost the same so is there a difference given both simcards have 5G?

    Hello the China / HK / Macau is slightly more expensive, this version uses "China Telecom" as the network operator in China.

    Whilst the China only one uses China Mobile which is generally better
