    • Thank u

      • No worries, bought one to replace my Anker cable that has white part exposed already

  • Any deals for 2m USB C to lightning?

    • 2m is out of stock

  • Any ideas why is it premium, other than the price? What resistance it has on each line, what E-chip, shielding, how many times at what angles it bends ?

    • it's a known brand, braided and 60w max

for $10 you're getting a pretty good cable

      • 60w or braided or branded can be easily found costing less and providing at least some of the details I asked. Here, I am not convinced. The only thing in favor of this promo is that iPhone port specifically double-priced and 10 bucks is not too bad for it.

        • quality mifi kit's always been expensive. if you need a usb c lighting cable this's a nice one for a tenner

          • @0jay: Okay, I see why is it premium:

Premium construction with an anodized aluminum finish.

So, the difference from any other expensive cable is the way it looks + 10.000 bends on unknown angle. This is pretty average for a good cable, to be honest. Nothing really premium or remarkable as they say. I doubt it would be better than Ugreen, that costs about the same without promos.

The mifi kit is the reason why I asked about E-chip, which gives protocols and watts.

            • @Ozzster: brother, buy or don't buy but implying folks're better equipped to make a decision on a clearance cable deal if they know the bend angle it was tested to withstand is just hallucinatory extremes of delusion (never mind that the bend angle's illustrated on the product page)

@0jay: You need to do this exercise once and then it will be very simple. I didn't know this brand, but from what I found today, they take average good cable in China and sell it as Australian premium for $60, using tons of marketing, tricks, discounts, and bla-bla about nothing in particular. This business model typically works as 80/20 - 80% on marketing, 20% on actual item i.e. specs and objective qualities. This model assumes no real promos, and total overprice far from actual cost.

Having this knowledge, it's just easier to skip and take the brands that have different models and invest in the item instead of its marketing.

                • @Ozzster: otterbox've been around in the premium space for at least as long as the iphone's been on the market. they're not known for cheaping out. if they just rebranding an existing generic cable i'd be astonished though i've little doubt these cables're manufactured in the same factories ugreen etc source their goods.

                  buy, don't buy, whatevs

                  • @0jay: I'm not saying they save on something or they are bad. They are just not premium in reality, its a normal but overpriced cable. Not $2 normal, but normal $10, which anyway will last less than 5 $2 cables for its price.

                    • @Ozzster: and you've made this determination following a bit of consumer grade googling

                      bully for you

                      • @0jay: Nope, I know this stuff from techy end. I make my own cables sometimes, and I know how each of the required specs will be (or not) important for me in which case. Actually, there are reviews where people cut cables and test in labs to see how truly the marketing claims, and even Ugreen was caught on little lies. But, not for this brand, couldn't find its openups.

                        • @Ozzster: ugreen are in fact wildy overated. they're fine, not running them down but using them as reference ('even' ugreen) is a telling bit of foolishness

                          • @0jay: Its a reference because they make everything. Can you find XLR-3.5 jack cable from Otterbox?

                            • @Ozzster: mate, we'll have to agree to be nauseously sick of this exchange.

i've a paper to write, enjoy your arvo

I don't know how to reply

      When You Might Skip It:
If you just want a basic backup cable and don’t care about build quality, there are cheaper options (but they may not last as long or support fast charging).

If you're price-sensitive, some Anker or Ugreen cables also offer good performance at slightly lower prices.

      Bottom line:
If you value charging speed, long-term durability, and safety, this OtterBox cable is worth the price. It’s especially good for daily use or travel.

omfg even reps are pasting from the prompt

gonna revoke my upvote soley for this fckery alone

        • other than the price? What resistance it has on each line, what E-chip, shielding, how many times at what angles it bends ?
I'm not the manufacturer, so I really can't answer that.

          • @Shamrock 5: i'm not asking anything more than post what you know or leave gen ai out of fora that can only be degraded by gen output

anyone can hit the prompt if they so inclined, it contributes nothing
