Thanks OP, got one. Don't forget to add in a Paddy Pallin Club membership for $10 to get an extra 10% off your order.

    • How do you get the 10%? I have a membership and it is not applying… Assumed because it is on sale

      • +1

I purchased the membership in the same transaction and it automatically applied it when checking out

        • Yeah I just tried the same and it was working when I added the membership logged out of my account, but when I logged in the it removed the membership as it said I had one already… And then didn't give me the discount. Will just contact customer service tomorrow and try get a refund for the difference

No thanks, I won't support Sarah Palin.

Dunno about the LT specifically, but do have a recent model Poco Plus and they're damn good. Most Osprey things have been good quality from experience (the last 10 years). Current Poco Plus has heaps of convenient storage and intuitive locations to access things. Very comfy and had built in shade which was easy to deploy. Whatever the features in this LT, $160 seems like a steal. Damn the Plus is sub $230.

    • when do you normally use this carrier for?

      • +1

Used it for day trips for travelling where a pram would be pretty hard to use. Also used it on hikes. Both were great, mostly because the back venting was great.

  • These are awesome op never seen a carrier like this style before but bought the plus and keen to try

  • Is it for everyday use or only for hicking?

  • +1

Bought the LT for portability! Thanks OP!

  • How does it compare to the Ergobaby Omni Breeze?

    • +1

These are way more comfortable to the wearer, especially on long hikes.

I have done an 8km hike in the Ergobaby and it was ok, but this felt like I wasn't wearing anything. It sits on the hips well and dispersed the weight well.

This also has more storage. I'd buy it if you're doing more hikes otherwise you can get away with the Ergobaby for shorter walks if partner is taking bag for supplies.

      • +1

To add to this, you can comfortably keep using this type of pack for longer / more years than an Ergobaby. E.g. there's no way I would go on a hike with a 10-15kg kiddo in the Ergobaby, but can easily do it with this. It's set up to distribute the weight like a hiking pack.

    • +1

Depends what you're using it for.
Daily getting around def the Ergobaby.
Proper hike/outdoor trail then the Osprey.
These things are NOT small to use indoors.

  • they should include instructions on how to put it on - fully loaded with the kid inside :|

  • +3

Fun pack for the outdoor enthusiast. Do note that it's only really useful before your kid is walking/running, otherwise they wont want to stay in it!!!

  • Are these small enough to go in carry on luggage when empty/folded down?

  • +1

Thanks OP - grabbed the plus one. Saw in a review article: The main difference between the Poco and Poco Plus is the storage capacity. The standard Poco carrier can hold 20L of gear, while the Poco Plus holds 26L (that extra six liters is enough room to stash a couple extra puffy jackets, some rain gear, or a beach blanket and sand toys).

  • Nooo LT out of stock

    • back in stock now?

      • Not for me… Others are available, just not the LT version

  • +3

    Now I need to make a kid…

    • Should be able to find an instruction manual online somewhere.

  • Nice find!

Was tossing up the LT vs the Poco Plus for the last 2 hours. OOS on the LT made the decision for me!

After researching and ChatGPT'ing for so long, seems like the LT would be great to take travelling and use for short stints - but may be less comfortable for kids older than 2. Also sounds like it fits inside a large suitcase (the Plus wouldn't).

I honestly don't know how much we'll use the Plus, I'm hoping it's easier to travel with than I'm expecting. I just couldn't pull the trigger on the LT, as it sounds like it can be more uncomfortable for the wearer beyond short walks.

  • Poco Child Carrier $194.99 is in stock

  • Thanks OP! Awesome find. Bought the Poco last night.

  • Capacity:21L

How many L is the average 2 year old? Do I need to do the old Archimedes bathtub test?

    • I can't remember if Archimedes accounted for a toddler splashing around like Cthulhu in his experiments

  • Ordered the Poco, should've gone for the LT as it would fit the wife better.

If anyone else wants to buy the Poco for the same price, let me know and I can give it to you if the fit is not good for us.

    • I missed out on this, would be keen if it doesn't suit your needs. Drop me a pm down the track if you decide to offload.

    • +1

      It's back in stock

      • still shows OOS for me

        • I think it goes in and out of stock. I saw the post at like 2 am, it was marked expired but the Poco was in stock so I purchased. Later I saw all 3 back in stock, debating if I should buy the Poco Plus and return Poco

  • was looking at 1 of the Poco Child Carrier and the plus however the plus went oos

hence got two of the non-plus version, if anyone is interested in swapping out a plus please let me know happy to cover the difference + postage

  • anyone have any solutions for a 5 year old who gets tired on hikes? seems these would be more for younger kids right?

  • Did anyone get an email saying the order had to be split? I only ordered a Plus and the lifetime membership. Hopefully my order isn't getting cancelled.

    • I ordered the poco and membership, I received the same email.

      • I just got an AusPost tracking number via email. Good luck!

    • me

  • Any know if these are comfortable in cold weather with puffer/snow jackets etc on?

    • I would say yes - these honestly fit & adjust like a proper Osprey hiking pack, just with a kiddo instead of gear in the back.

    Got mine delivered this morning.

Glad I decided on the poco instead of the poco plus. Feels so much more manoeuvrable once I've folded in the stand. Perfectly sized pocket for a day trip and I love the large connecting space that goes upward for extra stuff. They even thought of putting in an inbuilt ledge to stop things from dropping down - genius! The big hidden osprey logo was a nice easter egg.

Thanks OP, a very well built carrier.

    • Hey Chops.. i got the plus, any reason you think it would be less manoeuvrable? did you try both out?

  • We received the poco and poco LT today both in black. Now to decide which to keep and return..
