Eufy S3 Pro Security Camera Kit (2-Pack) with Homebase3 + Bonus Camera for $1199 + Delivery ($0 C&C/ in-Store) @ JB Hi-Fi

160

Current price of $1199 is not ATL (SuperCheapAuto is also on sale for $999 but limited stock availability) but the bonus offer of an extra camera (normally around $450) makes this a deal.

Have been looking to get the 4-pack which has RRP of $2499, and is normally discounted to around $1800, but 4 such expensive cameras for my property size may be overkill, so this deal (3) is a good sweet spot.

Don't know much about the Eufy system, but is anyone familiar with what makes this cam and system so good that it sells for more than 4x what some other providers are selling decent consumer gear for?

    • +1

I will spend that money on the newer G6 UniFi Protect cameras instead.

      • +3

Wow - you know you're doing something wrong when Unifi cameras look reasonably priced in comparison.

    • +3

Eufy's high prices are a result of each camera having a high quality sensor, a relatively large battery, an integrated solar panel, and a pretty clever on-board image processor that can do face recognition among other things, and a fairly well-regarded NVR. This is quite a capable collection of hardware.

Having said that, I would never pay that much for a wireless camera system and 2 (or even 3) cameras - not when I could get 99% of the features and better reliability with a PoE system for significantly less money.

Eufy have definitely tried to aim for the aspirational end of the market with "Apple-esque" plug and play simplicity combined with flashy marketing and a somewhat closed ecosystem.

      • Great explanation - thanks!

Agree that it’s a false economy to pay that much for a wireless system, which will be compromised by design, irrespective of how well it is deployed…

    • No subscription to a cloud storage required, perhaps?
I initially had 2 of their wireless 4k cameras. One would not charge with the solar panels, then I returned it and got a 4k wired instead. It works very well, it's much cheaper and does 24/7 recording. No more missed events.

Yeah, I think many of us started down the CCTV pathway in the same fashion. It’s not until you realise that you trade off pre-roll for wireless that you end up investing in a proper wired system.

But plenty of other systems are subscription-free too, so I’m not sure I be prepared to pay such a big premium for the privilege…

  • Is this at Supercheap not the same? Same Model Numbers T8892TW1. Just the Supercheap one doesn't 100% mention the Homebase, but it does say:

Works with GVA/Alexa, Local Storage, No Monthly Fee, 1TB Hard Drive

and it has a photo with the homebase…….

So it almost indicates it is the same. Someone would need to call and visit a store to 100% check, but if it is correct then $999 would be a ripper deal I would say…….

    • Jb are throwing in an extra camera, so its 3 cameras + homebase.

    • +2

Is the same product. However no bonus extra camera at SCA. So either 2x camera + hb3 for $999 or 3x camera + hb3 for $1199. Extra $200 for 1 more camera. RRP of the add-on is an insane $699 officially.

Can of course use discounted gift cards at both for further savings.

I just price-matched the 2-camera pack at JB Hi-Fi with Supercheap and ended up getting 3 cameras for $999 and its a great deal + GV discounts

      • Was this in-store or online?
Tried online but seems the additional camera is not added to the direct price-matched cart? Was wondering whether they just give it to you anyways when collecting , or was it an in-store price match?

        • +1

online, the agent requested me to confirm if he can add the free add-on camera :)

          • @ajayshiva: What did you have to do exactly to arrange it online? First time doing it hahaha

        • I did online for $995 and just requested the add-on as part of the price match.

          • @NobalaKoba: What do you say via online exactly to get this price matched. First time doing it hahahaha

            • @HardwoodLegends: Heya, just responded to your PM.
I asked "Price matching won't exclude me from the bonus offer, will it?" And they confirmed it wouldn't exclude me from the bonus offer, and in the link they sent it had the extra camera with a price of $0

They arent the s3 pros either, just FYI.

      • got ya! thanks

      • +1

yup! As an owner of 3 x S330 and 2 x S3 Pros, there is no comparison between the two! S3Pro are fantastic, charge always with their inbuilt panel and have 4K vision, with Daylike vision, B+W radar vision without any light etc

        • Same, the Pro is so much better.

  • +1

Thanks, price matched against this and got the 3 cameras for $995.

    • +1

Thanks for this link and your comments above about asking if the bonus is included. I was able to price match for myself and family members. The $4 saving over Supercheap Auto's price has just about covered the delivery fee.

  • First agent wouldn't let me price match + a free camera. Reduced it to $1170 (lol) with a free camera. Tried my luck later with a different agent and priced matched $999 + a free camera.

  • Stay away from these solar battery cameras. The battery has a life span of around 3 years. After that there's a dead camera needing replacing.

    • My Eufy 2C are 5 years old and battery still working well. The only thing that I have issues is that some of the cameras don’t have a good seal and the lens will fog up when it’s rain heavy. Given 2C had same IP rating as the S3 Pro, I’m concerned they may have same issues.

  • Price matched to $999 at first attempt

    Bonus camera no longer available

  • When was the deal meant to end?

    • Supposed to be today I believe as I remember seeing it as 9 June. But perhaps the meant before 9 June.

      • Yeah, I thought it was mentioned as 09 June 2025

  • Anyone got a screenshot of the deal the Jb rep wont belive me there was a bonus offer in the past

  • +1

The bonus camera deal is back again for anyone who missed out. End date 18th June.

    • Tried yesterday, wouldn't give me the bonus with price matching against Device Deal and offered price $1170 with bonus camera or price match without.

Called this morning and managed to price match device deal for $995, but had to pay $13.99 shipping to WA as there were no shops that carried both nearby as all had one or the other
