The warranty will come in handy when they inevitably break down. Be cautious.

    • Ive had a mk7 golf which had a clutch pack issue (dry clutch), have a q2 currently with wet clutch which had a mechatronics replacement.

Besides that they had/have been fine to be honest. One good thing w/ the Karoq as the lower grades use a torque convertor as well so in theory that would lessen concerns.

Yeah apart from the transmission needing to be fixed they are fine… Are you hearing what you're saying lol?

        • Back in the old days people were happy if they got 100k km between engine rebuilds. Then along came the Japanese. Some people never made the switch.

        • "Yeah apart from the transmission needing to be fixed they are fine… "

You sure about the plastic water pump too?

@SetTheFaqUp: Don't even mention the injectors on the diesel engines. I worked with a bloke who got one 5 years old, drove it for 5 years until the check engine light came on for an injector, baulked at the cost of replacement, then traded it in on a new one. His view was that he got a good run out of it. The new one had the water pump replaced under warranty, surprisingly he was still happy with the brand.

1 repair on the Q2 in 7 years which I guess means it’s unreliable and junk according to ozbargain

          • @[Deactivated]: Classic downvote cause it doesn’t suit someone’s narrative

      • I assume you are ok with it because warranty paid for it.

What happens when the warranty runs out? These are not run into the ground cars like Toyota, they are only good during warranty.

The current Golf has dropped DSG for torque converter.

Some European marquees naming conventions are just as bad as the Chinese.

"Skoda Winter Sale - Karoq ($3k) and Kamiq ($2k) Discounts"

At the least if your posting give some examples of prices.

        User name checks out. LOL

How about you start with how to post a deal properly first?

        • -1

Honestly thought I did, didn’t realise I had to get the prices for each different trim level for the people who need to be completely spoon fed, then again this is ozbargain.

Consolidating relevant and useful information is a great benefit of ozbargain.

didn’t realise I had to get the prices for each different trim

You don't have to go that far, but adding a little more useful information would be very beneficial to the post. Definitely no need to get filthy in the comments.

Kamiq starts at $34,540 in Victoria.
Karoq starts at $40,990 in Victoria.
I am guessing the discounts will be applied on top of these prices.

@S2: The literal first comment was a negative comment about reliability. This place is an echo chamber and anytime someone doesn’t meet the strict pseudo policies of a post gets hung out to try on this platform. Too many arm chair experts of everything. Last post from me this place is toxic.

@[Deactivated]: Good idea, take a break from ozbargain.
Come back when you find a deal here you like or see another one you want to post.

Being MY24 range doesn’t that mean they could be as old as 2023 builds.

    • Tell you how sought after the cars are. Probably about the same as the Mercedes EQEs

  • +3

Seems like a fairly minimal discount for MY24 models given we are mid 2025

Good choice as it is one of the VAG cars which are built and last for lifetime. It is not a crap jap/kor car.

    • "lifetime"

Life is indeed short in the VAG world.

      PS. Are you okay?

    • as it is one of the VAG cars which are built and last for lifetime

According to your previous ramblings all German cars are good and last a lifetime without even having to lift the bonut. Are you now admitting that there are shitbox German cars out there?

    Fantastic little car.

  • Endless rattles and quality control issues. At least on my Kamiq. From forums I've read other people seem to have the same problems. Hasnt caused me any issues mechanical wise thus far.

Skoda wanted over $1000 for 60k service. Obly qent back to dealer as my usual mechanic didn't want to service it which is a worry. Came with fitst 3 services free. Theu did the regular maintenance however didnt seem to be able to solve any ratlles. The 'waiting room' was a few chairs in the sales room.

My mechanic's advice, when I asked him about an Octavia - "buy it new, sell before warranty expires, and don't bring it here!".
