I just bought a Mac and I hate it but it is far more optimised for Adobe than anything Windows.
For example, a Macbook Air M4 (32GB RAM) can import 15k 50MP photos in Lightroom classic from my camera in about 60-63 minutes. My windows laptop and desktop take approximately 2.5 hours to do the same import on power and on battery my windows laptop does about a third of the job before it runs out whereas the Macbook Air completes the job with 67% battery remaining.
Editing and reviewing photos is much better on the Macbook Air too, the UI is far more responsive.

creative workloads. photo editing, video editing - a lot of industry standard tools are optimised for apple silicon. it's more obvious on laptops - MacBooks are far more efficient. and they run on battery without any reduction in computing power. and they last much longer too.

My M1 Max laptop outperforms my RTX 3070 when exporting 4K video in Davinci Resolve and Premiere Pro. On battery! Have you seen laptops with a 3070 inside them? They sound like a jet engine, weigh a ton, terrible battery life and must be plugged in for full performance.

We had Macs in our Forensic labs as well for years until they switched to Windows, nobody wanted it, it was hell, the software was trash, the annoyance of Windows restarting to forced updates whilst you are running a task that can take days and it gets interrupted, super painful on top of all the AV etc you need to add on top to slow things down as well, you end up whitelisting everything as AV flips out at the code these apps run
personally i use both, i love mac on a laptop and pc on a desktop. if i dont play any games anymore, i would pick mac over windows anyday, espicially the windows nowadays…………
but as a average joe, macOS feels more polished, devices just plug and play, it just works. and best part, laptop battery last for days………….
at end of the day for me, its not about how great macOS is, but rather , how shitty has windows became…….
I would go windows over Mac in the past but the direction they’re taking it now with ai, recall and making the user the product has me thinking of either going Mac or Linux on my next computer.

If you dual boot windows on a Mac you can have the best of both worlds. Did that with my first iMac and that mf lasted like 10 years ( GPU fried because I was playing AAA games and rendering 3D animations on it for hours a day)
These Apple Silicon Macs no longer have Bootcamp to allow for dual booting x86-64 Windows as Macs now use in-house ARM architecture chips rather than x86-64 Intel chips.
You can use virtualisation software like Parallels to install the ARM version of Windows on these Macs
You could also see if Crossover supports your app. It can run a lot of Windows apps and games directly in MacOS without the overhead of Windows.

MBP 16 with M4 Pro starts $3500 on AOC store with minimal specs (24/512). M4 Pro will be faster than M1 Max except for some specific scenarios. but if you value RAM and storage, awesome deal I think.
