My understanding is this has a better colour range and the G5 is going for $5,300
I wouldn’t compare a sale price to RRP. The G5 65” was $3,815 with a JB perks code a couple weeks ago.
You should probably take the time to look into HDR10+ adoption rates by streaming services, as well as the nature of current HDR10 metadata and image processing to close the gap when HDR10+ isn't available.
Dolby have held onto charging royalties for too long, and their time is up. Samsung are leading the charge for HDR, Google are leading the charge for 3D audio. Biggest barrier at this point is how a specific TV is programmed to handle and process HDR10+ vs Dolby Vision, but this shouldn't be a problem in high-end TVs.
This comment is getting old. Barely anyone can perceive the difference.
The matte finish is what kills it for me otherwise it'd be a buy.
No reflections during daytime viewing is a pretty big plus in my books.
Yeah there is a huge problem with ambient blacks though. No reflections but also, you get cheap PC monitor like washout as the ambient light rises.

Amazing screen when you turn the lights off though - but that kinda defeats a point of putting on a matte screen.
