Great price on the latest Openrun Pros v2. Big improvement in sound quality compared to v1, almost on par with the Bose Ultra Open imo, but more stable.

Same price for the mini. https://www.mydeal.com.au/shokz-openrun-pro-2-mini-black-146…

No, the sound quality isn’t as good as other earphone styles, but for those that want open earphones these are a great choice.

I run a lot, and love open earphones mainly so I don’t have that “breathing under water” kind of sound in my head and the constant thump thump. I have v1 and the Bose, and while I prefer the style of the Shokz I much prefer the sound quality of the Bose. V2 are much better, so have ordered a pair.

  • I had the Aeropex which were super comfy and great for running. However, the sound was low especially for speech. When I increased the volume, it just vibrated uncomfortably. Anyone know if the current gen have similar issues?

    • i kind of vaguely remember there was a speech eq mode - eg for use with audio books. I havent personally used that function though.

This will help in that area. I had the aeropex, Openrun Pro, and now openrunpro 2. One of the biggest benefits is the reduction in vibration at high volumes since they have a hybrid speaker approach now. One of the downsides is bigger sound leak (although reviews says otherwise)

      • Thanks. I may give it a shot.

My Aeropex got "the rattle" in them. When I approached Shokz about it they offered 20% off my next pair not combinable with other offers. I bought an $18 pair of conduction headphones from aliexpress that aren't nearly as good but for $220 difference they're fine.

  • how about the mic. will it filter out office noises at the background so people will hear my voice and only my voice during zoom call?

    • Zoom and teams does a good job in doing that on the software side of things. This mic has no special features to do so on the hardware side. I've had no complaints using this in work meetings though on teams

$259 on woolworths marketplace, same seller, 18% cashback via shopback, would be about $212 after cashback

    • Thanks! I was able to get an extra $10 off using the ‘EMNEW10’ promo code for ‘Your first Everyday Market order.’ That brought the price down to $249. I also checked ShopBack, and it tracked $44.82. So my final cost came down to $204.18.

      • Be careful. If you used a promo code not listed by ShopBack they may not pay.

  • Just bought these on another post last week.

Running - excellent and very happy with the purchase.
Calls/mic - no complaints from anyone so far. But definitely not super loud. Need to be in a quite rooms to hear. So will be using a more traditional style (I have the Amazon ones for a season or two back)
Battery has been good. 80% left after a a few hours.

Sound quality has been good although I listen to audible mostly.

Make sure you get the minis are the reviews I read mentioned the cord around the neck being super too long.

    • So normal size are simply far too big for most?

    • shrug - i have these (the v2) and not the mini version. I've never for a moment thought they were too big.

That aside, these are amazing for running. If you are a runner, get them.

      • Also for the normal and they have been great. No issues.

  • Will JBHIFI price match mydeal + code?

    • Online chat did price match for me (said they don’t usually do)
Purchased with discounted gift card, I can pick up tomorrow, without the need to wait for delivery.

      • They priced matched MyDeal? Interesting

        • Did for me. Maybe coz it is only $25.

  • Have a set of Shokz OpenRun Pro's and I absolutely love them, audio as quite as good as in ear or over the ear headphones but being completely open the sound feels more like it's in the room with you and and i tend to wear these things constantly basically 24/7; yes even to bed sometimes.

This seems to be a decent price for the OR2's, wondering if it's worth the upgrade.

  • Is this the version that has built in mp3 player? I don't like bringing my phone when going for a run

    • +2

No, if you have a running watch that can store music then you can sync that way
