An ATL for this OzBargain fav for bang for the buck :

Dailuaine is Gaelic for "The Green Vale". This distillery established in 1852 lies in a hollow by the Carron Burn in Banffshire. This single malt scotch whisky has a full bodied fruity nose and a smoky finish. For more than a hundred years distillery suppliers were despatched by rail. The steam locomotive 'Dailuaine No.1' was in use from 1939-1967 and is preserved on the Strathspey Railway. This single malt was released as part of the "Flora and Fauna" series, a collection of single malts from the more obscure and unknown distilleries in Scotland.
A complicated single malt whisky, full and sweet, yet also citric-fresh, that can impress mightily. An unusual combination of freshness and richness, this 16-year-old single malt whisky has a sherried style with a sweetness and a nuttiness that you can sit and savour.
Full-bodied with a smooth, smoky finish
Rich and malty with subtle fruit and spice notes
Crafted in Speyside for whisky enthusiasts
Best enjoyed neat or with a splash of water
43% ABV

  • This is what I am getting "The promotional code you entered cannot be applied to your purchase."

    • Same for me. Even though product is on promo page and says it works or applies. Cannot see discount at checkout.

        APP10

You need to use the Amazon app.

        • yes .. app works fine .. thanks

        • Thanks. Makes sense. I tend to use webapp/browser as first preference.

  • +1

Didn't need to add as a promo code. Just select the option on the product page

Decent whisky for $60. Wouldn't pay more then that for it.

    • +3

This is very true, it's decent at $60 but I wouldn't pay more either.
It's a pretty in-offfensive but kinda boring drop

      • I agree with your comment

  • Thanks OP

    Double black for $53

    With same code APP10

Bought the Dailuaine 16 twice when it was $60, very average. Wouldn't pay more than $60 for this again, but gotta say I'd prefer JW Double Black for $53, over the Dailuaine 16, thanks for sharing!

      • +4

I went down the middle and got one of each.
Thanks all for the alcoholic suggestions for this inappropriately named user!

    • Does not work for me "The promotional code you entered cannot be applied to your purchase." and I am on the mobile app ..maybe it is a single use

Great price at $60 for a 16 year old single malt whiskey. Dan Murphy had it for $136.99

  • +2

Got this for $65 during December. Was really good.

  • +2

Ymmv, but $60 is upper price limit for me.
Amazed how boring they made a 16 year old whisky…

  • Won't ship to Tassie though.

  • Cheers!

  • +3

Agree with most of the above comments, its not spectacular but still enjoyable…. what can you really get for $60 now?! In current market its good value…

    • Nothing interesting afaik. Laph 10 sherry cask @ $130 is my favourite but that's just at my local bottle store
      You're right it's decent value

  • +1

Its pretty good at this price, but rrp its a let down.

Starward for ~50$ was a far better deal imo.

    • +6

      Lol that starward is terrible

    • +1

I haven't had this, but starward is awful

  • Is it better than my " keep me warm" Grants for $60 that I drink with my Schweppes ginger ale and ice?

    • +1

Not answering your question as I have not tried the Dailuaine yet, but my go to mixer whisky is Chivas 12Yr. $56 for the bottle on Amazon currently. But you can also get 1L bottle of Grants on Amazon now for $60.

      • This one runs rings around Chivas and Grants

  • +11

Not sure wtf people are expecting for $60 ! This is great for the price. Ive spent a lot more than this on worse ,

    • +1

Totally! - Johnnie Green was the go to around the $70/80 it use to be…. but thats waaay out of reach now - happy to have this as the stable at this price.

      • On sale, Johnnie Green can go to 70 to 80. Bought it at that price on Amazon last year, though I don't know how often it happens, probably uncommon

  • Stop reading after smoky… i like sweet irish whisky…

    • +1

I've just opened a bottle to test this claim of "Smoky" and I'm having trouble detecting any smoke. What I do get is leathery old wood on the finish which might be what the link is, but my mouth is not left peaty or Smoky at all.

This is a "sweet" whisky. Big manuka honey and raisins going on. Should tick your box.

      • Thanks will wait for the next sale.

        • It's still $70. It was $130 or something like that in store before

  • +1

The camels suggests $70 is the standard price. So is the 'deal' here just the code?

  • See how you baggered 🦡 me into trying this! 🥃

  • +1

Code is not working even in App. Anyone else?

    • +1

      Not working for me either

      • Not working for me either.

FYI- I was on this about an hour ago, added items to cart for this promo and could see everything fine was working and then it literally just … disappeared

Like the promo went entirely, and the link to the promotion page stopped working. It just says “promotion has ended”

Can anyone confirm if they can still see the APP10 page of eligible products or it’s still working for them?

  • Did they pull the APP10 promo? I had things in cart doing it an hour ago and everything just disappeared it’s not working anymore.

Says “promotion has ended” when following the link to $10 off $59.

  • +2

This is a lovely whisky. It’s sweet, oaky, vanilla, cacao. I mean, for $60 or $70 it’s very nice. I wish I got 2 bottles.
