It's only fitting that the floor at the expo is one giant rug

    • +2

How long is this rug? They keep pulling, but it keeps going

  • +13

let me guess… their next post will be "free tickets + booking fee"

  • +16

a room full of cryptards, cant think of anything worse

  • +5

Wow, an entire convention devoted to bullsh*t and being monumentally unlikeable.

  • +6

    HODL …………….. for free tickets

  • +5

    All crypto is a scam.

    • +6

Its funny because the only people who disagree are either gambling money in crypto hoping it will be "sent to the moon" or they think crypto is going to replace bank transactions while completely ignoring the insanely high transaction costs and insanely high transfer times.

Nobody that has actually used crypto has found a legal use that was actually superior to an existing service.

      • +5

Gotta remember that wallet password 30 word sentence. How convenient

  • @rektrading

  • +7

was it this convention that didn't accept crypto as a payment method ?

  • +2

Yet tickets are priced in AUD$

  • +2

Crypto is pure speculation controlled by the big boys

    • +1

Either the big boys or the founders of the crypto currency.

  • +8

A year later, and you still can't pay for crypto con tickets with crypto. The irony is palpable.

  • its ATH again. good timing.

  • +4

The weak discount just to advertise on ozbargain (other discounts have been seen at 20%), with a silly price increase ontop of previous years, the likely release of free tickets (refer binance sponsorship last year) and the 'FOMO' hook..
I'm not even into crypto and have an instant distaste for the marketing tactic of the convention..
    This isn't a deal, let's be honest.

  • +4

These will be free again in a month, just like last year…

  • +3

Lol lol lol crypto convention that doesn't take crypto as payment.

  • +7

Decades gone by, still no valid use case for crypto. Just pure hype as always it had been. Even the Crypto convention organizers unwilling to accept crypto payments.

    • Its a way for the rich to become richer.

Buy a coin, ask elon to hype it up, pump and dump

      • Technically most people who get into Crypto lose money.

But at least you're finally being honest around the way it works instead of trying to defend it as legit after all these years.

        • -2

If you think about it, it is legit if you get in early and keep tabs. Its just dodgy AF because there is not enough regulations to monitor and prevent dodgy trades i.e. pump and dump schemes

          • @easternculture: How does "getting in early" make it legit?

Legit isn't the time of entry. It's the purpose, and/or underlying merits. Why are there now 500 or whatever number of crypto currencies there are? Bitcoin not enough?

Your claim seems to suggest getting in early on a ponzi scheme is legit.

Join 10,000+ traders, investors, -> You forgot to add "scammers".

I hate how the art of cryptography has been hijacked by whatever this FOMO scam is.

  • Monopoly money has more value. At least it’s tangible

  • auscryptocon

Hmm crypto and con in the url… This feels safe.

    • Was thinking the same thing
