I got 6 piece of original chicken for $8.50.
So are these actually deals? Random or specifically targeted? So much of the menu is not as much of a deal so I wonder how attachment & engagement works and is measured?

Randomly allocated every week(?). eg Would've preferred the double burger deal above instead of this. And unlike maccas KFC made it hard to run multiple accounts with only one phone number.

Why not try it for yourself and see if it works? You should always have multiple promos on your kfc account to test it on.
I don't think it works. "Only 1 promo allowed per order - check cart!"
Any suggestions on good combos to make this worthwhile?
