    My home doesn't need this.

    • saved you the effort to figure it out :)

It's already 20% off RRP from the retailer anyway, without having to go through MyNRMA…

  • The filter won't be cheap.

This company is very dodgy fyi, stay well well clear!

I applied for a sales quote with Complete Home Filtration, the guy came to my home, did a 'standard' pool tablet test to make my water blue (indicating fluoride), kept trying to talk to my misses to convince her that her and the families health were too important and we needed the system asap…
I deliberately didn't mention NRMA 20% discount until after he had provided a quotation ~($4,000), then when I mentioned, "oh I have a NRMA discount" he replied "thats already in the price", which was false because all his pre-printed marketing brochures had the same price on it…

The next day I went to a pool shop and bought the 'fluoride' tablets, the exactly the same ones he had (or so he says), and it didn't change my water blue at all…

He got angry when I didn't sign up wth him, and he kept pressuring me stating, 'oh, lets just apply for finance and see what they say'. The mood dropped significantly when he realised I wanted to shop around competitively…

He even had a pre-prepared binder of 'competitors offerings' in which he wouldn't let me see.

He left in a huff and I indeed shopped around, I found exactly the same setup without their fancy box cover for ~$1,800 installed by a local plumber.

Last straw was him telling me about all the grandparents hes got systems for, and all the work he gets changing their water filters at a inflated price every 12 months.

I discovered he gets a commission of $500 per unit sold and he's been around the area offering inflated services specifically targeting elderly who don't know any better.

    Hated this company ever since

Negging because they claim they are all aussie and amazing premium company, but in reality they are anything but

What filtration system did you opt for?

After a scan of a few websites, I settled on Filter Systems Australia, they knew all about that dodgy company and their practices and helped me with my questions when I called, can be quite confusing for new players especially all the filter types and micron sizes, but I got fantastic advice.

Price was pretty good too, significantly cheaper than the dodgy company, I even got an upgrade to a stainless steel filter holder

Goods came a few days later and installed that weekend, would gladly buy again from them for my next setup

        • Side question, why do you think we need a whole house filter system (include bathroom or any exclusion) ? Also, how often do you need to change the filter and approx. cost ?

@X200T: I can't speak for your case, but showering was improved greatly, if you don't want to spend the money just get a kitchen one.

I replace every 2 years, all depends on how much water you consume and how bad your water is

Oh wow, I had a similar experience. Old mate wouldn't take no for an answer and became quite rude. I had to boot his arse out the house. A rip off and use aggressive sales tactics.

  • Thank you OP, however negging as this is just a fake RRP discount price.
Plus the various comments on how dodgy and overpriced they are.

  • Oh.. didn't know it is so bad.. Thanks, all, for sharing the experiences..

  • I had the same experience as @Headless. Their Google reviews list a regular price of $4k, yet the moment you mention the NRMA discount, the “pre-discount” price mysteriously rises to $5k.
