Telstra nbn Fixed Wireless + Mobile Bill

I was in contact with a retiree today, who was with Telstra and paying $100/month for very slow fixed wireless (tested at 3.93mbps DL), and $40/month for a mobile plan giving unlimited local calls.

I consider this to be quite expensive.

Can anyone advise what the best deal for fixed wireless with Telstra would be, as well as their cheapest post paid mobile plan offering unlimited local calls?

I figure I will get a more accurate response on OzB than contacting Telstra directly.

I am surprised how many people get overcharged on internet. Big companies are quite opportunistic when they deal with people who may not know what they are paying for.

(as for the slow speed, I realize that this will need to be reported as a fault to be rectified).

I just get my parents to tether to their mobiles for internet. No need for a separate service for the amount they use.
