These are great, I had two installed during the week to replace existing sensor lights.

Tempted to buy another at this price lol

    • Second this, I paid $348 at HN recently, so it's a great deal. Adjustable brightness on the lamps, excellent image quality and the tracking is outstanding. It will continue to monitor and record targets even after they step outside of the activity zone. Being able to set it to trigger on different conditions ie humans only or vehicles only is really handy. Sure you have to pay for installation but no worrying about battery charging, ever. Super happy with mine!

  • I've had a eufy Security Floodlight Cam E 2K for 2 years. About 2 months ago, the floodlight started flickering. I've already tried resetting it and confirmed the firmware is up to date, but that didn't fix the issue.
Has anyone experienced this or know how to fix it?

    • Same here, the led seems not reliable, mine has 1/3 beads start flickering and are only half bright as the rest.
Adjust the brightness up makes it less noticable, camera is functioning well.

      can the LED be replaced?

      • Not sure, I can’t do it myself.

    • Mine runs at half of the light output 24/7 no amount of resetting and readding it seems to fix it, eufy have said return to store of purchase for refund..

      • Yeah mine does the same sometimes, even with ambient light turned off etc. Strange

    • Is that the same LED as on this model? Or very similar in their style, if not? I wonder if the design has improved over time or the new ones are susceptible but just take a while to fail?

  • Haven’t checked but with sca 25% off, would it be cheaper?

    • +3

      SCA - $336.75 after discount.
GoodBuyz - $287.97 after using 'return20' coupon code
      https://goodbuyz.com.au/products/eufy-security-e340-floodlig…

      • shipping will make it more expensive?

        • It was free delivery when i tested it. Code can only be used once against an account.

      • Would JB Hifi price match goodbuyz + discount code?

        • +1

To answer my own question, I called them and they said no they wouldn't match if a discount code was required.

Also, JB Hifi live chat doesn't seem to be working.

  • How does the recording work on these. Since its 128GB storage, is that like 1-2 days of footage and then it automatically recycles?

    • +1

      Can link to a Homebase.

      • but if you don't have one?

        • You can choose event based recording or 24/7 rolling, which I imagine just wipes over the oldest footage once you run out of storage.

          • @Captain Yobbo: Is that around 2 days worth?

            • @bin555: I just checked mine I have a 128gb card , from today , recordings go back to may 8

              • @Retchey: Wow. That's a lot.

                • @bin555: Sorry may 10th

                  • @Retchey: Thanks again.

                    I just bought it now.

Just need to now see how the installation works. But was looking to getting these installed property without having to worry about recharging battery or solar.

                    • +1

@bin555: Yeah they are hardwired cameras, need a sparkie to install, you will love the AI camera following it works flawlessly.

                      • +1

@Retchey: Most handy people can do it themselves. How? Measure the distance from where the camera is to be placed to a spare power socket. Buy an extension cable , three pin, a couple of yards longer. Snip off the female end, expose the three wires and strip to the length required. Thread cable from power point to the now installed camera/floodlight. attatch to the back of camera - Ensure you get the colours correct. plug male in socket, switch on and Eureka! it works or things spark and go bang, Simples.

            • @bin555: For event based recording 128GB could last a few months. I have one set to continuous recording with a 1TB ssd, it goes back to 2nd of April and the ssd is at 790GB. I have 5 other cameras set to event recording connect to the same ssd with lot of events, those are few hundreds GB by themself.

              • @ntb: just curious on how have you done your setup.

So you have 5 of these cameras. Isn't the SD local to the camera itself? So, how do you have a central storage for it?
Also do these camera's interact with each other or you just have 5 independent feeds to EUFY app?

                • @bin555: I have a mix of E340, 4 x 2C and an E220. They all connect to homebase 3 to store footages. This is where the magic happens. You can watch feeds independently or when it detects an object (human, pet etc) walking around it show feeds from all camera related to that object in a timeline.

  • Commank Yello also has $10 off gift cards which work at JB

  • +1

Goodbuyz also has them on special, leave it in the cart and they send an email for another 15-20 percent off , I got 1 last week for $276 ish from memory delivered. I already have one, awesome AI camera

    • I did this and next day got a code for 20% off (CART20) - unfortunately for me, the codes didn't stack.

  • I'm going to get my sparky to hook it up to my existing sensor light however it is currently mounted off the soffit, would this camera be able to be mounted in the same orientation or does it have to be off a vertical post or wall?

    • +1

They can be easily adjusted to be mounted under an eave.

Great price. The tracking technology is amazing.
I have one and was fortunate enough to be on my phone when the app alerted me to someone coming down my driveway and blocking his face. Saw him bash my door down and called the cops on him. They turned up in like 5 mins and tasered him, lol .

    • Nice.

  • How does this compare to options from Arlo, Google Nest, Reolink, Ring, and TP-Link Tapo?

  • I have the S340. Its brilliant tracking when the subject is in FOV. I have it in a corner, which would technically require 270 deg FOV.
It would be great if I can have a network of PIR sensors which could then tickle the S340. But, Eufy is too lazy to ingest user feedback.
