  • Katana?

    • Thought the same thing, on closer inspection, the Katana impact driver only has 158nM of torque.
They're both Sidcrome and both brands have the same head office, seems like a waste of resources all around pushing these products, they must have quite the mark up on both ranges.

I would suggest watching the vid in the link below before buying. It's only 10 mins long and the guy guy does a Kincrome and Ryobi grinder and impact driver comparison head to head.

Saw the Kincrome ones in person a while ago, and they looked cheap as hell, not a good look for a semi premium brand. I wasn't expecting much, so not surprised the Ryobi smokes it.

      • Similar, was not surprised at the result either. Was never interested in buying them, but when I saw the vid pop up a few months back I thought it would be worth a watch.

    • I saw his one with this part with the Impact Driver against the Makita and it tells a different story -

I guess if anything that's a good review for Ryobi then, and yes they are great I've used Ryobi extensively (I used the Ryobi kit to build a garage last year). Whilst the impact driver is superior however the drill is inferior as it only has 54NM of torque (also used it) whereas the Kincrome one has a lot more.

Not interested in the grinder. It doesn't do it for me and isn't in this kit. In the rare instance I'm grinding its 240V and raw power for me!

      • Cheers, just watched it. Interesting that the Makita XGT didn't perform better by comparison than it did.

Not so much advocating Ryobi, just more that the Kincrome may not live up to the initial hype when they were released. They were always going to do it tough in an already established and stacked market, and I guess the fact they are now selling for 1/2 price a year later reflects that.

Hopefully they serve well for everyone that has bought them.

  • I would rather invest in RYOBI, their HP tool range is as good as some other professional tools and also RYBOI has the biggest range of tools in their ecosystem.

King chrome is Super heaps home brand and is cheap ASF just a heads up. They thought they can go against toolpro and the ozito but failed

    • Toolpro is supercheap's home brand - Even has Super Retail Group's details on the box?

    • One, it's Kincrome, not "King Chrome". The title of this post has it quite clearly.
Two, as MrFrugalSpend has pointed out, ToolPro is Supercheaps home brand, so no, Supercheap did not think they could take "King Chrome" against ToolPro.

Kincrome is a privately owned family business out of Melbourne. They do some pretty good stuff, they also do some quite average things I wouldn't touch with a 10 foot pole, their power tools are the latter.
