    Do I need this?
    Yeah, NAR

I don't know why anyone in Australia would need "tactical" gear, unless they work for the military and for some reason our government is wasting taxpayer money on substandard equipment.

I wear military “tactical” boots for work everyday. Closest thing to a battlefield they see is Bunnings. They’re comfortable, breathe well, durable, well priced, and substantially lighter than traditional work boots. Do I have your permission to wear them?

Spoken like someone who hasn't hiked a kilometre in their life.

      • yeah i used to wear them as they were comfy and good for moving about - some of the other work boots out there are like wearing wooden clogs

      • Off topic, but do you mind sharing which boots?

I’ve tried many over the last 15 years.

Garmont, Bates, Merrell, Under Armor, 5.11.

          Garmont too heavy and clunky.
Bates fell apart in 1 month.
          Merrells were excellent.
Under Armors were the most comfortable I’ve ever worn. You could sprint in them. Unfortunately the tread wears through very fast, and the latest model trades leather for an entirely synthetic construction.
Currently on a pair of 5.11 ATAC 2.0 8”. Excellent so far. $123.79 delivered.

I recently got an amazing deal on a pair of Salomon X Ultra 4 goretex and took them on a hiking trip to Thailand. Compared to my regular combat boots, I felt so much less agile while wearing them. It’s like the sole is too thick for me.

    • Perhaps some citizens want basic first aid equipment?

They are pretty handy and easier to use/store.

It is just a bandage with built in dressing pad and way to secure it.

Can get ones that apply pressure on their own too.
