    • Why is software or maps essentials in EV? EV's are just cars, if you drove a car with no software you will be fine with an EV with no software. Maybe it'll be better as there's no chance of any software problems.

      • Hardware is just as good as its software - updates can be helpful on the software to keep the car as efficient/practical as possible (helpful for using app functionailty such as controls, any security updates, camera or light sensitivity particularly headlights, airbag deployment etc). If there were any issues with software, then it can be corrected with updating the software . I would think of it as having an old smartphone and being able to still use it if updates are still being supported despite having newer models in the market.

  • Just FYI, guys, Polestar is about to exit the Chinese market because it has zero competitiveness and an outdated design.
Consider the old stock Model Y or a BYD as a wise choice.

    • And its clearance price in China now is $29000, used with low km only $8000-$15000

    • The cars aren't suited to Chinese market preferences. That doesn't make it a bad product.

      • apart from being much more cut throat in terms of competition and pricing in what other way is it different to ours?

        • Service (potential parts supply issue), lack of intelligence, and its productivity are relatively low compared with its price. If you want a compact car, wait for BYD's Dolphin, priced at $ 20- 30k, with a decent interior, better intelligence, and a 300 km range.

      • As Volvo is also reducing production at its facility in northeast China, the supply chain for parts will be disrupted. The warranty will be a big issue; imagine they could order parts from their China factory within a week, a month, or more from the EU.
Also, its intelligence and product power are far from those of mainstream brands.
        What do you think?

  • Cons: Tech and packaging may not be as good as a Tesla
    Pros: Its not a Tesla

  • Looks ehh, I'd take a BYD Sealion 7 or Middle/Top spec Seal tbh
