Valvoline Restore and Protect 5W-30 Engine Oil 6L $59.95 C&C/ In-Store Only (Excl. NT) @ Auto One

50

Seems like a good deal on Valvoline Restore and Protect Engine Oil. Usually near the $100 mark so quite a substantial saving.

This oil is highly regarded as being able to clean engine deposits as seen by many reviews online (including "The Motor Oil Geek" Lake Speed https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-IDvx1LtqVM).

Also available in 10W-40 here: https://www.autoone.com.au/products/valvoline-restore-and-pr…

Not an all-time low ($49, earlier this year), but still a substantial saving.

I price matched with Repco the last time.

Interesting, It implies other brands do not make engine deposits, or these particular brands make engine deposits, or they are not able to make for other cars, yet!

German cars, particular VAG, more particular VW, are so well engineered that they don't get deposits. That explains why no mention on the bottle.

        Spreading MIS-information?

Truly brilliant engineering from VW, eliminate engine deposits by ensuring the car spends more time off the road than on it. Can't build up gunk if it's always waiting for parts!

But what if it's one of the few that do run you say. Well don't worry, they thought of that too and made sure the engine reliably burns at least 1 liter of oil per 1000km to ensure nothing sticks around long enough to cause trouble.

    • Take everything you read as a guide & it's through trials & errors (experience) for YOUR circumstances & car, you'll realised how much you've being MIS-lead, lol.

It implies that it only meets the requirements of those particular brands.

For example, an engine in the BMW MINI requires a low-saps oil, which this it not. So they aren't going to show MINI on their list of suitable brands…

  • Does anyone know when repco do the 49 deal again?
