We had one of these for a couple of years when living in a place that had a broken oven. They work well for roast etc like a big air fryer but not good for small amount of food. We've moved and now have a 8L air fryer which is much better and rarely use our oven except when needing to cook bigger items.

For those who can't get this price Kmart have a similar one for $57.00.

    • +2

Personally, I'd much rather get it from Kmart.

I don't see any ABN or address from this seller. Will probably just ignore you if something goes wrong

      • +1

Yes. Easy return for change of mind or faulty. Free delivery with OnePass

    • +1

Just to add, the eBay one comes with additional accessories (which the Kmart one doesn't come with):

      • Steam Tray
      • Baking Tray
      • Tongs
      • Bread Rack
      • Skewer

Also Kmart model is halogen? heating tube which is different from older models with heating element coil. Not sure what's the eBay one is though.

      • Not sure what's the eBay one is though.

Mine just arrived, and it's the halogen heating tube (just like Kmart's one).

        • Sorry for the ignorant ones like myself, is halogen superior to the coil?

Mine just arrived today, hoping to do some roast pork belly using my late beloved Mum's recipe 🥲

          • +1

@AnDyStYLe: Honestly, I'm not sure myself.

All my previous Glass Convection Oven has been coil, never tried a halogen tube one.

I'm going to assume that the coil can get hotter but consume more electricity.

Don’t buy, these are obsolete appliances

These are prehistoric air fryers before they fixed the design.

    Laborious to clean.
Dangerous hot parts when opening after cooking. Takes up a lot of space to place the very hot lid after cooking to inspect food.

I bought one very similar and posted it here more than a decade ago, quite a popular post, garbage air fryer,

    • Kmart version reviews look good, I wonder if they're different from the old crap models

      • I remember looking at the Kmart one on display in-store and it was a halogen? heating tube instead of a heat element coil found in older models.

Huh these are awesome, been using an Aldi one for years to cook a 2kg roast chicken & veg.

Design is great & the glass bowl is very easy to clean. The trick is to do it straight away, don't leave everything to cool down & dry out.

    • Ahh damn, now you mention it the one posted doesn't appear to have the lid fixed to the stand where you simply lift it at a 90 degree angle to open. The one we had back in the day had this.

    • +1

Dude, I bought that one! And I've actually been very happy with it, as were two other relatives. Amazing for making Chinese style roast pork. Much larger than an air fryer, so you can use it for larger things. The glass is easy to clean, though the top a little harder.

For typical things, an air fryer is easier. But for roasted meats, I reckon these are pretty good.

exactly my thoughts. Does the consumer have mass amnesia??

These were the first generation of airfryers when airfryers were just introduced.

I'm really baffled at how low IQ we are, allowing brands to literally sell us old junk from almost a decade ago and somehow it's a new product. Strange times.

    • i think most of these have a self cleaning function even if they're not labelled on the knob dials. the first one i owned from the early 80s had self cleaning.

this old design is much better at roasting whole chickens and veg imo.

it's as dangerous as removing a hot pot lid from the stovetop. a chopping board can be handy when doing so.

the Good Price People = the Good Guys? 🤣

  • +4

Better than air fryer! Non of the low grade teflon they use in air fryers

    • I recently bought a glass one 6.5L, haven't used it yet but was getting pretty bad smells from the instant pot vortex, like toxic kinda smell

  • code doesnt work

    • The code requires eBay Plus

      • I have ebay Plus - found it. Now it works

  • +1

Ive used this type of air fryer for years and found it to be really good for pork belly and other roasts. Kmart used to sell these at $39 many many years ago, So at $39 it's a bargain.

    guys ummm hello???? mass amnesia?

These were the first gen airfryers that were introduced almost 10 years ago. It's absolutely baffling to hear that some people in the comments are saying this is a 'new great thing'.

They're literally selling us old stock that never sold off, somehow people are falling for it?

    This is insane..

    • I read the comments again & can't see anyone saying it's a "new great thing".

For anyone that missed out, now available in black.

    • +1

Glad waited as prefer black version.

      • Black cooks better.
