NordVPN: 95% Cashback (New NordVPN Customers Only) @ Cashrewards

70

I think the title says it all.

No mention of what constitutes a new customer so assume it's not available to any past customers no matter how long.

No cashback on upsold products like NordPass and NordLocker.

I don't see any restrictions on the length or value of NordVPN products that can be claimed, as assume it is all NordVPN subscription lengths and features.

Looks like 73% off 2 years for past customers.

Don't know why you were negged.

      Seems $122.16 for basic.

95% cashback would bring it to $6.10.

    • "$134.38 Pending" on my 28 degrees card.

"$114.03 Approximate cashback in AUD" in my cashrewards

  • Hasn’t Nord given over people’s details, or am I confusing them with some other company

They will comply with law enforcement depend in which country you are connected to. Where ever their server is locate have to comply with that local law

VPN is for privacy but not anonymity, keep that in mind

      • +1

Some VPN doesn't keep any details to hand over (e.g. ProtonVPN). But depends what you want VPN for I guess. If for privacy, streaming, P2P, it's fine. If you want to overthrow the government or work on your druglord career perhaps not.

I think they say they don't keep any logs .

      • Meh im good, others may not be (As I delete all my smurf smuggling plans from the deep forest)

  • my old plan expires tomorrow. best to sign up with a new account or go with a different company that has CB offers?

    • +1

No harm at all using a new account.

  • This or PureVPN ??

    • +1

This! PureVPN only has servers in Sydney it seems (or not Melbourne at least). From what I saw briefly before I turned PureVPN off and gave it to my friend, NordVPN is far superior.

      • I generally haven't been happy with NordVPN, finding it drops the connection too quickly if there is an outage, and does not try to re-establish it. Also on 1 occasion I found that the kill switch was not doing what it is supposed to do, with provider IP address being leaked (this may have been addressed in an update? or this could be a more regular occurrence as I only found this out by accident). It is a major annoyance to be away from the PC for a few days thinking your VPN is working, to find out it disconnected and stayed that way for the entire time.

In saying that, PureVPN makes NordVPN seem like a much better product. PureVPN in a very short period of time, has revealed so many issues (multiple IP leaking, stability issues, reconnection issues, slow performance, very basic interface Win client). I am simply going to stop using it. I want to like it as it is so cheap.

for any existing customers, you can use the gmail trick to sign up as a "new" customer.

if your current email is [email protected], just put a '.' somewhere in there and Nord will recognise it as a different/new email (e.g. [email protected]). Gmail will autodirect any emails received to your current email address.

The title in CashRewards says 95%, but the offers below say 73%. So confusing.

  • +1

It is confusing, but my understanding is that if you qualify as a new user, you get 95% back from Cashrewards.

The 73% just appears to be Nord hype (they are saying it is 73% off a much higher price that looks like it has been inflated.

do we need to use a new cashback account also or is this not an issue providing we sign up to NordVPN with a new email address?

  • +2

There's also the Amazon gift card right?

    So on the $194.16 plan, it would be $213.58 inc GST @95% cashback = $213.58 - $184.45 = $29.13
    + $40 Amazon gift card = $10.87 gain

    • Only got $107.34 AUD pending from CR so the complete plan might count as upsold nordpass, nordlocker? Can claim money back within 30 days but no Amazon card for the basic plan ..

      • So you applied for the top tier and only got $107.34 AUD cashback?

        • Yeah the complete plan

          • @Paul B: Thanks for confirming. Doesn't really make it worth it then. I guess you don't get to keep the Amazon card if you cancel within 30 days?

        • this also happened to me, waste of time.

          • @agk2020: Learned me to check previous deals when not clear
