People that want to support them and show appreciation. Like on Bandcamp, where you can choose how much you want to pay for a song that you can also get for free. Some friends will pay crazy amounts. It's like Twitch or Youtube memberships and gifts. Not necessary, not cheap, but there's a whole world outside bargain hunting. On a metaphysical level, some generous people might end up better off than some penny-pinchers. I.e. it might be more of a bargain to live life counter-intuitively to most here.
Two other stores have dropped this synth to $999 also.
I wonder if it just wasn't selling at $2400, like literally nobody buying. Sometimes the market just says "yeah nah" when new synths come out with high price tags.
I'm intrigued by this synth… but it's possible the $999 price is closer to what it should have been in the first place.

Still expensive piece of gear, but cheaper than the $2499 price Store DJ have it for :)
