    Nice !

  • Never understood doing this without blockout dates but okay

    • The more you go the more you spend while you're there. Plus you'll bring your mate who's visiting from out of town. It's a win-win for them

      • Yeah I more meant $99 for a year AND they get to take up a spot in the ride lines in peak times when people are paying the same amount just for the single day. Maybe they've done some data grabs and found people with season passes don't go on school holidays and busy summer weekends?

I get how that's bad for the customer, but I don't see how it's bad for them. They're just adding our dollars to their pockets every time we go

        • +7

because tend not to locals don't go in the busy times. Once you go in both offpeak.& peak, you don't go peak again.

    • What is a blockout dates?

      • +2

Dates where you can't enter with the annual pass

    • +6

Because so many of the locals avoid the busy days anyway. With locals passes, naturally only go when the crowds are low.

How do they verify your postcode?
Do you have to show license or ID on entry?

    • Why the downvote? I am currently living in the post code area, but moving away in the coming weeks. I don’t want to buy a pass and then find I can use it after I move.

    • -1

No, they just zap your pass and away you go

      • -1

So can buy fir interstate family and friends, profit!

        • You have to verify when you purchase. They don't ask for ID on entry.

    • They never checked mine but they checked my wife’s ID

Also new King Claw ride is opening at the end of the year too.

  • Nearly mistook this for Village Roadshow's Movieworld. close call!

  • Does the 12M life begin from date of purchase?
    E: Yes

    • +2

Boo - Village Roadshow ones are 3 months to go first time and it starts from then

VR's passes are valid for 12 months from date of first use. Unlike DW, which are 12 months from purchase, you have 3 months from purchase to use your VR pass for the first time. So while they are a bit more flexible around when you start, you still only get 12 months of actual use. Plus, they're $229 … for essentially one extra park. Now I get that some people think DW is not as good as MW or SW but that is very subjective and depends on family lifecycle and ride preferences. DW have done a hell of a lot of work since during and after COVID and the park now looks way better than MW. It would be my top recommendation for young families, but MW still has the edge for older thrill seekers. IMHO, WWW is a far better experience than WnW. Sure, it is smaller, but the queues are always shorter, there are usually fewer rides down for maintenance, the amenities are newer, and many of the thrill rides are very similar.

        • The only thing with WWW is it's closed a good portion of the year, while WnW remains open the entire year, even if it's reduced hours for a lot of it

          • @jasong: Not really a problem for us. They usually close after the April School Holidays and open again for the September school holidays, so really only closed for the July holidays and winter months, when we would not go due to the cold. Dreamworld has plenty of other attractions for the cooler months. We usually hit the water park pretty hard during the warmer months. The one attraction I like at WnW that they don't have is a lazy river.

  • Dreamworld Locals Annual Pass

  • This is Anal pass

    • +3

I think something else is on your mind.

  • Includes white water world. That's cheaper than a single entry! Argh, would we actually use it enough though…

  • Can you annually pass this to friends and family?

  • They should do it for all. You know people from other states may only go once or twice during 12 months.

  • A massive disincentive for anyone outside of QLD and Northern NSW to go to Dreamworld.

    • +1

Why would someone who’s not a local want a annual pass anyway?

  • Have to go down that way tomorrow and was looking at racq single day for $60. Just means have to get back again at some point in 12 months which I'm sure we will do.
