  • Needs an external display to be useful; the built-in one is iKiller.

  • Can we upgrade the ram and ssd?

    • No

Looks like you can upgrade both ram and ssd. however, 8gb seems to be the max ram. Details here, https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9F1VIK4mFhU

That is an older model. The gen 6 laptop has soldered ram. That video shows an older generation with a gen 6 processor.

  • Looks like a dual core processor, LP DDR3 ram. In addition to the screen being meh.

  • Garbage screen kills it.

PROS: Reliable, made for kids and hard to break

CONS: these things are a total slug in terms of performance, and you should look up the benchmarks prior to investing any time or money into them.

Think of the slowest PC you would practically use, perhaps something like a dual core like a i3-7100 and keep in mind the overall benchmark of this thing is half of that. They technically run W10/W11 but are not fit for that purpose at all and will infuriate the user as a workstation of any description.

These would be ex-primary school, so deals for them will come up often because there are many. The CPU runs with no fan and while lack of cooling cripples' performance, that's one less thing draining the battery and one less part to fail. For use cases it should be considered similar to a raspberry pi with a screen.
