    A complete waste of time

As someone who doesn't give a single shit about Minecraft, but saw the movie with their 9 year old. It's fine. Jason Momoa is fun as always.

I'm too tired to do my usual ramble. Soz.

  • my opinion on Max's new release movies after signing up the last day of the early bird price tiers.

there have been a decent amount of new releases added, but they have been quite mediocre imo.

    the list afaik:
⁕ Twisters (good movie, but I don't add points for it because it was available on Apple for 99c before Max was in Australia)
⁕ Companion (most looked forward to this, I like dramatic story based horror and body horror, but ultimately this felt like a lot was cut and censored. it was just acceptable but nowhere near amazing like barbarian. I will watch it again hopefully opinion gets better)
⁕ Juror #2 (clint eastwood directed, I liked his past films they kept your attention with a good story and wholesome, normally great movies but this one was a bit uneventful and slow without a wholesome conclusion)
⁕ Mickey 17 (good but not great movie. I enjoyed it enough storytelling to keep you hooked, kind of unique and interesting scifi narrative, enjoyed the cute things and the effects were great must have had big budget. I give it +1 over twisters for uniqueness -1 behind twisters in terms of overall movie I enjoyed twisters more)
⁕ Mountainhead (a lot of talking in rooms, glad I wasn't exhausted otherwise I might switch off and use my phone, different twists on current terminology like "____cel" was a bit cringe as a whole was just ok, maybe -ok)
⁕ Alto Knights (robert deniro twice what could go wrong. it was just ok (below good). I'm really not into these kind of mobster movies. the movie reminded me of oppenheimer how it played out, a bit biographical but at the same time not very interesting. oppenheimer was great Alto was not. it was just ok. I watched it because it's a new release)

so overall 2 were good, 1 i'm going to watch again because I want it to be better, 3 were just ok to not very interested (if you want harsh opinion Juror #2 and Alto Knights for me were bad). overall experience is mediocre.

now I know I've said I will give every new release on Max a watch because I want to get my $7.99 a month's worth. but I'm giving Minecraft a miss. not only did I not play the game but it just seems like a cash grab content for kids and their parents, I just expect I will find it cringey or just tune out to the phone. I know I'm not the target audience anyway so won't say anything much bad about it.
I haven't watched Borderlands on Prime for the same reason. not interested in seeing Cate blanchett with orange hair playing a fictional character, and Kevin hart trying to be funny showing hes perfect white teeth.

still have hope for more new releases.

  • Great ill get ready to throw all of my shit around the living room when a chicken shows up because im one of the cool guys

  • Is also available on prime too

    • Nope, prime is rent $29.99 or buy $34.99 to watch.

      • I have a funny feeling it was Watch on Prime before..

it must have quickly switched to rent for $29.99 though.

which means maybe I should sub my month of Prime soon, to watch Warfare. they will probably switch that to Rent/Buy only quick too. I think 2 or 3 weeks.
