  • Nice… I read the T&Cs but may have missed it, but any sign of a cap on the cashback for hotels?

    • +2

Past few times they did this last year when I was booking my hotels, they had no cap. Booked around 4 hotels and all had the correct rate/paid out correctly, didn't cap at any value.

So unless stipulated, it'll be uncapped.

  • Still have not received the cashback for the trip since February. Shop back does not do anything.

Shopback were useless when I tried to get my Cashback paid out for Trip. As soon as I threatened to contact ACCC, they backed down

      • So after mentioning the ACCC they paid the cashback?

Yeh lol. Not sure of the circumstances around yours, but mine was a pretty clear breach of ACL. It's worth a shot

  • Children and infant flight ticket excluded . Not sure why

Turns out that booking without shop back is cheaper than with it. Basically jacking up prices and giving cashback.

    • It depends on the hotel. So it's always worth checking. I've just booked 2 rooms in China on Trip.com and it would be dearer booking directly with the hotel

In my case I booked hotels in Tokyo and Kyoto via Agoda and they were cheaper than Trip.com via shopback.

    • This has always been the case since the dawn of time. Just have 2 tabs open, 1 incognito and 1 with cashback to compare prices confirming whether shopback are scamming/price jacking
