    • Got the jaycar one with my vouchers for $29 bucks, can't complain.

I would highly recommend a PineCil over this; but these work…. OK… just nothing worth raving about.

I’ve been happy with my TS100.
It gets firmware updates and although it costs more would be a better purchase than the jaycar flavour of the month.

  • am i reading the jaycar listing wrong? is this just on/off? Or is temperature variable?

    • +1

Just on / off according to manual

      Correct, according to the manual

      Soldering mode- 500w
      Ironing mode - 600w

Press and hold button to switch between the two

  • Just curious, what parts do you guys usually solder? Want to buy one buy don't know if I will ever use it!

      • microchips - ESPhome etc
      • heated inserts for 3D prints
      • random electronics/wiring
    • Mainly strip lighting, otherwise wiring yeah.

Don't buy these if you're not going to use it, the battery will degraid over time, might as well get a wired one or one that uses the 18V battery system. Or something the other commenters have mentioned.

At least now you're informed when you need one you don't need to fork over the RRP price.
