Amazon Shipping Delays/Issues - Anyone Else?

Lately I have had multiple orders - some sold by Amazon some sold by other sellers, but all listed as fulfilled by Amazon, that just don't ship. There's no estimated delivery dates given or anything like that.

I had four orders placed for random things between the 2nd and 6th of June, that still hadn't shipped as of yesterday and no estimated dates provided. I initially inquired about a week ago and was told it was some fulfilment centre issue and the rep said I should just cancel the orders and reorder. I said I just wanted the orders shipped as prices had changed. Gave it a few more days, no shipment and inquired again yesterday and was told something similar that didn't make much sense to me but they offered to cancel it and give me $30 credit. So I did that.

Have since placed some other orders to try get some EOFY things sorted, and similar situation yesterday and today. Orders received, no dates provided, no shipment yet.

I'm located in a regional area and slowly Amazon has been stopping shipping to me and others in the same situation, but this is obvious at the point of purchase - something along the lines of 'Amazon does not ship to this address'. I'm curious if they're now expanding this further and just deciding not to ship to these regional areas and not telling customers?

Does anyone have any similar experiences or any suggestions on what might be going on?

I hear Amazon have lots of ALP voting union members operating in your area. Dan and Jacinta oversee the process personally ( volunteering / unpaid / freebie role) , with Albo watching on, just in case.

I knew I cancelled my Prime membership for a reason.

  • I did around new year but it's fine now, back to normal.

  • Hmm, thanks all. Maybe there is just some fulfilment shenanigans afoot. It's just really noticeable as their dispatch previously was very impressive, or at least the estimated dates were advertised.

    • Maybe Amazon pkgs (in some places) share carrier personnel that the sloth like APost uses?
I think Australian logistics is now so entangled and complex, it suits all their agendas of escaping accountability & blaming other links in the chain. There's no umpire watching over. Even APost has a wet lettuce ineffectual ombudsman model. The worst model out there. It costs a fortune, does SFA. Much like ACCC,TIO and other self regulators.

I have the same issue since last May.

Ordered Amazon Basic knitwears, waited for 2 weeks before it dispatched. Received 3 weeks from the time I ordered. I thought it was just because the items were popular and Amazon need to backorder.

Ordered Viltrox lens, waited for 3 weeks, no news. I cancelled my purchase.
Ordered mobile phone case, waited for a week, no news about when it is being dispatched. I cancelled today morning. I think I will not buy anything from Amazon during this time of the year.

Just ordered from eBay after I cancelled the mobile phone case order from Amazon. Got message from eBay seller that the item has been dispatched this afternoon.

    • Yeah I'm heading back to eBay for smaller/more common items as they dispatch quickly. Can I ask if you're regional as well?

        I'm in Hobart.

Amazon was pretty fast previously - the items arrived ahead of the scheduled time.
I just realised that I still have one order (placed on 10 June) and still don't know when they sent. Will cancel it shortly after this.

  • Estimated times seem to be a little off for me, same day are arriving the next day.

Had similar problem with similar timeline. Regional area. Zero communication After almost weeks contracted them, said no reason delay and received 4 items within 3 days…and a $10 voucher, not requested. I think unless there is an obvious delay get onto them after a week and either get things moving or cancel. Never used to be a thing, AFAIK.

    • So after you raised it with them the items shipped you think?

      • No doubt about it. They even said all 4 items were showing as in stock. Otherwise robot chat was saying July 21 delivery and I'll bet that never would have happened

There have been other discussions with a similar experience.

Seems inconsistent to me - sometimes orders just sit, seemingly to be never shipped, and other times fast (or at least decent) dispatch of the order. 🤷🏻‍♂️

I have experienced multiple times pre-orders that never ship, yet the same item is being sold at a higher price by Amazon Australia. Makes their "Price Promise" hollow.

    • Thanks for linking that thread, I hadn't seen it. Definitely something up then based on multiple experiences. Very frustrating that there's just no dates provided. Makes me think I should cancel all my orders but I'll try harassing chat tomorrow and see
