Because.
Cheap.
Not good for your health but sometimes you get sad in life and want comfort foods / drinks to make you happy again. 3 - 4 standard glass a week should be ok for sad times and not do too much damage to the body.

It's this price every other week.
3 - 4 a week? It's just carbonated water, a bit of colouring and a sweetener. Have 20 a day if you want, it's harmless
Aspartame..
I'd me more worried about all the food containing Erythritol
Why, are you a cat or dog?
@jv: The studies backing Erythritol to heart attacks and stroke are non-conclusive and more evidence is needed to draw definitive conclusions.
Sugar on the other hand, which you accept and consume daily, is well and truly proven to be significantly worse for your cardiovascular health, weight, liver.
Aspartame has some weak links to cancer and neurological effects, but again - weak associations and certainly not when consumed in any reasonable amount.

Not according to Dr Ross Walker.
@jv: Has Dr Ross Walker conducted and published peer reviewed studies?
Their sources for information are the same as anyone else - with the caveat that they extract whatever best supports their argument(s) and spins it as necessary.
Has Dr Ross Walker conducted and published peer reviewed studies?
He's read them through medical journals, not google…
@jv: I read just fine, I would like to know the articles (medical journals) you get the info from instead of just statements.
Unless you've never read an article before and don't know that you can link them through doi and such which is very likely as you quote someone read and not you read.
I would like to know the articles
Then ask the person who read them…
I told you the name of the Doctor who was discussing the results on the radio.
Yeah?
What’s wrong with it?
The acids in fizzy drinks eats the enamel off your teeth. Also, the artificial sweetners are bad for various reasons. Regardless, I drink this stuff because it's pretty much my only vice and I figure I could be doing a lot worse, right?
I live off this stuff and my orthodontist commends me on my dental health every visit. Someone is lying to me..
Sugar free is only bad if you succumb to its temptations
tell me more about how artificial sweeteners are bad for you
🤮
Cannot sleep after drinking this stuff - original Coke is fine. I reckon I must be super sensitive to Aspartame.
Drink 3 hours before sleep when sad.
Is there any taste difference between this & normal coke zero?
Caffeine adds a certain bitterness so it lacks that. IMO very much like the difference between drinking regular coffee and decaf - tastes almost the same, not as bitter, and that distinct feeling something is lacking. Joy, probably.
🤣
ty 👊
Op what damage it cause to body btw?
You’ll be skinny
There's a number of medical reports on the use of specific sweeteners, and associated health problems. For aspartame in particular, one health body recommended a maximum of 40mg/kg of body weight, daily. According to Coca Cola, one can has 85mg.
The FDA acceptable daily intake of Aspartame is 50mg per kg of body weight. For a 80KG person, they would have to drink 20 cans of diet soda daily with Aspartame to reach the allowance.
To date, these sweeteners are fine for general consumption.
Personally I'd be more concerned about the acidity of drinks for dental reasons, but most don't care about that.

and known to be carcinogenic…
Pepsi Max $1.75 at Coles so its $21 for 12. Pepsi is better imo but for 3 dollars difference either way you can't go wrong on either.
Funny how they can send these to me if it is sold by the warehouse, but not through regular channels.
Personally I like
Pepsi Max vanilla more
Yep, same here. I also like Maxi Ice no sugar (basically a copy version of Pepsi max albeit a little sweeter). Plus maxi ice is Aussie made so there's that.
Thanks, party on Sunday!
Same price at Woolworths this week. Just in case someone doesn't need 12.
Dont think I'll need this much lol. Havent been a shortage of soft drink since beginning of covid
"…sometimes you get sad in life and want comfort foods / drinks to make you happy again."
Lacking both sugar and caffeine… no happiness here, just bloated stomach… which will make you even more sad.
The chemical substitutes for sugar and caffeine tricks your brain just enough for sadness to disappear.
I believe these packs are about $16 at Costco if you have a membership.
usually amazon coke deals deliver short life products
