I assume the PC has better mod support.
I've played a lot of both PS4 and PC stardew - they're pretty much identical in gameplay if you're using a controller on PC.
I would recommend it on PC because:
- you can play with friends online without a PS subscription
- it gets updates much faster (though there probably won't be many coming now)
- option for mods as @poglet mentioned
- don't have to get up and switch the disc to play it 😅
But free is always good - maybe give the PS4 disc a try before the PC sale ends and see if you like the game?
I reckon switch is the best platform for it. It's a great game to pull out for short stints
I think game is flawed AF and still have hundreds of hours in it and even bought it on my phone. Once you understand how to play it, it's very very good.
It doesn't have much direction to start I'm about 1.5 hours in
Yeah just keep going you're not making any terrible mistakes don't worry
What ways is it flawed?
what is the best platform to play this on? PC vs console on tv vs Steam Deck/switch vs mobile
leaning toward mobile due to portability (its with me all the time) but not sure about control and screen size
IMO the PC controls are pretty janky and it's one of the only games I'd prefer to play on my phone due to the auto fighting and tap to interact which auto selects the right tool. That being said the soundtrack has some bangers and playing on PC benefits from that. I'm unsure about console.
When I first started playing I would play for hours on end, so PC was better for me. I've done a few playthroughs now so I don't need to sink as many hours in in one go, I prefer to play a bit here and there so the Switch version works for me. Each full day within the game lasts about 15 mins so it's good to play a bit here and there.
The single bloke that made this game won at life
He has a gf who supported him
She worked two jobs to support him working on this for half a decade.
Anyone got in b4 the journal neverending day glitch patch? Soooo much iridium.
Great game and well worth it, even at full price!
Think I'm close to 1000 hours on this for Switch and PC. Well worth it.
Even without the discount this game is worth every dollar!
If I have this on gamepass, any way to transfer my save data to steam version?
This game with mods is the best game for couples/friends/family
is this like farmville?
The Stardew Valley Symphony is coming to oz in Nov - https://www.stardewvalleyconcert.com/tour-aus/nz
My son gave me his PS4 disc last year to play. I'm yet to do that :( Maybe buy this one for PC instead.
Much difference with the game experience between platforms ?
