Most of the hotel aggregator sites adjust their prices depending on which site you clicked through from. On top of that, Agoda in particular varies its prices depending on all sorts of factors. Booking.com is mostly stable, but in my experience clicking through from a referrer will sometimes change any original on-site discount or what your Genius level really offers you. Basically, if you don't feel like tracking prices carefully and working out how to click/block/VPN etc carefully, the claims of any type of specific discount are meaningless because a discount off an inflated price is not a bargain.
If this worries you, try incognito or clearing cookies
Shop back tracking has gone downhill. My last two transactions one with Myer and the other with klook didn't track.

This is a scam, they just add 12% to the normal rate. I found, agoda cashback works better lately.
Search for same hotel with and without going through the rewards site and you see the price difference.
Lol it does vary. Sometimes it does that sometimes it doesn't.
Either way, it pays to check as you say through the rewards site and without the rewards site. And to also check the hotels website too.

Was about to book prior to seeing this. Went via Shopback, room rate was the same and cashback tracked in about 15-20 minutes. I have seen occurences of rate increases when going via Shopback and Cashrewards, but more often find its the same rate.
Lesson is to do your due diligence.
Shopback and Booking.com have a direct partnership so it should work better. My last one tracked and is still a while away. I might cancel and rebook to get an extra 2% CB.

Be careful with booking.com. Last time I booked a hotel with my credit card through their platform, my card was fraudulently charged just two hours later.
This seems to have gone down to 9.5 (Plus) or 8.5% cashback.

Every time I activate any cashback price is increasing more.
I do just use Google maps to search for hotels this day. Sometimes I have to switch to mobile and the price might be cheaper. And the more you search and the next day becomes more expensive. It seems they collected all data.
