  This was the price about a month ago for a grey market Z8, as fulfilled by Amazon. While my own grey market Z8 was about $4600 bucks, so this is a wild deal for local stock.

  How does trickle down tech work in cameras?
  Will I be able to buy something like this at mid range prices in 6-10 years time?

  I still use my old Nikon D550. Does ok, but time to consider an upgrade in the coming years.

    just get a used Z8 honestly. really no point buying brand new imo.

    you'd be surprised how many used cameras in mint condition you could find on fb marketplace.

    How does trickle down tech work in cameras?

    i think it has sort of peaked atm, slightly better AF and maybe video capabilities and that's it. spend more on glass, which will make the biggest impact on the end product than the camera itself.

  One of the reviews says it's a grey market import. The seller is Amazon Au so Nikon Australia will price match it. Also got a $300 eftpos card from them when I got it.

    Just make sure when you purchase you always select Ships from Amazon AU and Sold by Amazon AU as it sometimes defaults to another 3rd party seller. Amazon AU are an authorised Nikon reseller. Those reviews for greys are for the product from another seller.

    Purchased the Z8 through Amazon last year when Nikon Yellow Day sale was on and this is a nice price as it's a little cheaper. Excellent camera, I use it for wildlife but not much it can't do extremely well.

  I bought mine from cccwarehouse for $5255 (-10% GST TRS) , and it’s already been a year in my hands. I’m very happy with it. Now it’s at $4665.

  Amazon AU is now $4900, have been tracking its price and it's been steadily dropping since end of June. Thought price would revert now that Nikon AU sales are over but still hasn't.

  I ordered mine when it was $4935 and delivery will be tomorrow. Still happy with this price!
