Pointless comment. We all want a 5090 for $3 but this is about the best value you're actually going to get right now.

    • +10

It's also 36% cheaper than the cheapest 4070 despite being like 17% slower at 1440p.

It's objectively good value in this market.

        • +1

How is release year relevant? Performance per dollar is king (plus feature set, power consumption, driver support, etc.). Value is relative to the market.

Why are you hung up on the 4070 specifically?

          • -8

@Erwark: Cause for me, the best graphics card to aim for is the previous gen 70 tier card. So the 9060xt should ideally be aiming for the 4070, which I think is also crap.

500 dollars and can't even meet my MINIUM requriements cmon

            • +6

@John Barosa: I don't think AMD or Nvidea care about your arbitrary requirements in the slightest unfortunately. I think their consumer market has really just become an annoyance to them.

              • -4

@Dsiee: Ik. I'm hoping semiconducor factories keep up with the demand

              • +1

@Dsiee: What do you even mean by this? Such a weird comment to assume an entire company is "annoyed by their consumers". Great then as in any business if they can't make a product that their end consumer wants then what are they doing? They don't have a right to be annoyed and if they are then they can go completely invest in their AI and see how well that turns out for them 20 years down the line. I promise you AI will not create a better society, and those who profit off it will only reap the consequences of their lack of morality.

  • Really happy with my Sapphire Pulse, which is a similar 2 fan design to this. Super quiet and stable.

  • +14

16g for this price is awesome already

      • +17

That's kind of the point. It is a bottleneck on the 8GB version and 16 solves that.

        • 12gb wouldnt have been a bottleneck but im not smart enough to know if that would work with the architecture

      • you have no idea the VR game i play, just need more vram but dont need top of the line computing power.

  • +6

Been sitting on this for a while but at $574 (with a $5 coupon) it's a no brainer. Perfect for my needs as I can't fit any cards above 200mm inside my case

    • What was the $5 coupon code?

      • +3

Basically, creating an account with them.

        "$5 Elite Welcome Voucher"

I wonder if the 9070XT Reaper will ever come back in stock. It's been OOS for months.

  • +4

Good upgrade from 6600 xt don't you think? 42% more performance.

    • +1

      Also 8 to 16GB Ram

  • 10070 xt? 16gb would be nice upgrade over my 6700xt when that comes out I guess 😂

  • Would it replace a 1660ti at 1080p or not worth it

    • +2

I upgraded to this exact model from a 1660s and am well pleased with the improvement. Figures online suggest you'll get double the performance, and that seems to track.

  • +1

Bought this model a couple of weeks ago for $629 (oh well) and am happy with it. Really like how compact it is—smaller than the two fan 1660s it replaced. Reviews say it has higher temps than bigger cards as a result, but note that the cooling is perfectly adequate while staying pretty quiet.

  • +1

Great deal, mid-range competition heating up.

  • +1

    Good for SteamOS?

    • +3

      I'd say so

    • +3

No drivers on PC SteamOS for this yet :/

Better to stick with Bazzite or Nobara distros that do have RDNA4 drivers ;)

      • +3

Yep. It needs a newer kernel than what SteamOS has so it’d be best to use Bazzite for a SteamOS-like experience.

  • +8

Hmm, maybe its finally time to retire my 1080ti… Can't belive how long its held up…

    • +2

Peak Nvidia. We'll never see a card like that again.

  • It is an upgrade from my 6700 XT. Hmm. Tempting but i would just do a whole new rebuild in two to 5 years.

    • +1

I did, but only because my Gigabyte 6700XT ran hot and loud. It is a sidegrade at best in regards to performance.

  • Hey guys, what do you think of a better deal than this during prime week? On the fence as to pull the trigger.

    • Good question, I'm thinking about pulling the trigger to replace my old 2070 super in the backup gamer so I can claim it in tax straight away

      • +1

Can I ask what do you do that lets you claim a gaming graphics card on tax? Or just fingers crossed no-one cares?

    • I would like to buy the 9600xt 16gb under $500 or 9700xt under $1100

  • How much better is this then the 6800xt at 1440p? (Sorry, don't know how to find reputable comparison)

  • +2

Damn. Less that half the price I paid for a 9070XT. This seems like great value.

  • Has anyone got their Reaper card and can comment on the fan noise?

Some people with 9070 Reaper have complained about rattling noise and seems like 9060 XT use the same fan?

    https://www.reddit.com/r/radeon/s/Pczqaow9Yu

    • This can be returned under warranty for faulty fan.

I have an XFX 9060 XT Tripple fan in white 16GB and a Saphire Pure 9060 XT in White 16GB No fan noise when they are spinning. Both double ball baring fans.

    • +2

My 9060 XT Reaper arrived and I'm very impressed with the performance and noise levels. No "ringing" sounds from the fans described on the Reaper 9070 XT. I'm sure other people will comment on it if theirs does. My previous graphics card had a bios locked 30% minimum fan speed and it was the last thing in my computer making sound on idle so I'm pretty happy :D

      • Nice, i'm waiting for mine, was worrying about the fans but that sounds assuring. How are the temps under loads? Hotspot/delta?

      • HODL for…?

        • -6

600-700 9070 non XT. I want my future graphics card, to at least beat a 3090

          • +2

@John Barosa: Fair, but you know it'll be a few years until then…

If you need to buy new, and you need to buy now, and you're primarily playing esports titles or AAA at 1080p med-high, then the 9060 XT 16GB isn't a bad option.

But otherwise yeah GPU prices are pretty bad all around for everything these days

            • -1

@CrispyChrispy: 9070 is rn at 980? Just 280 down to go. I thnk we could get something, beginning of next year.

        • RDNA5

    • -1

Kinda decent if you absolutely need a new card or the extra VRAM, but the value conscious may want to look second hand in this market. You can pick up a rtx 3070 for ~half this price any day of the week, with similar raster performance if you just want to play games without a big spend.

      • +4

You can pick up a rtx 3070 for ~half this price any day of the week

Just had a look on fb marketplace and it's all 400-550.

        • -4

Asking price, they won't sell for that. I recently helped a friend build a budget rig for his GF and he spent $330 on a very high end cooler version, from $400 asking.

        • yeah 3070ti's are still decently expensive, strong 1080p card, would personally avoid 1440p ( im using it on 1440p and it's not the best)

    • +2

This is as good as it gets currently deal if you want 16GB vram. The last deal at this price almost got a hundred upvotes, just a week ago.

    • I'm sure it was a one off, but I had to return the one I bought from Centrecom. I'll have to wait and see what happens. Not impressed with how they handled the situation. Luckily, my 3060TI still works fine and am using that.

      ymmv

    • Should I get this instead of an RX 9070 for SteamOS/Bazzite?
I really would like to pair this with a Ryzen 7 5700X to get similar performance to a PS5 Pro.

      • Are you chasing high framerates? Do you play at 4K? Do you need both? Get the 9070. Do you just want 4K60, or 1440P 120Hz? The 9060XT is enough for most games. But again, it depends on what games you play. Also consider if you are willing to compromise with upscaling solutions for less optimised titles, or if you are chasing raw performance above all else.

Either way, both are well-supported by Linux.

        • +2

That’s great and all, but there’s such a price chasm between the both of them, and I don’t think the 9070 will be well-utilised by the 5700X compared to the 9060 XT.
But I’m also willing to compromise on native 4K resolution with upscaling methods instead to achieve 60fps gameplay.

          • @FujinShu: Congratulations, you've answered your own question ;) I own a 9060XT myself, paired with a 7700, and I'm happy.

    • This price is actually at the USD MSRP (when factoring in our GST) and converting to Aussie dollars.

I wasn't sure we we would see this price so soon after launch👍 You know, given how bad things have been in the GPU market for some time.

      • Probably lack of demand for this GPU in general.

    • +5

Is that a… reasonably priced gpu deal I see? In 2025??

      • +1

This is a little below the US MSRP once you remove GST.

      • +5

        9070 XT MSRP = 599 USD, add GST 599x1.1=659 USD ~ 1000 AUD < our ATL = 1139AUD
        9070 MSRP = 549 USD, add GST 549x1.1=604 USD ~ 919AUD < our ATL = 999AUD
        9060 XT 16GB MSRP = 350 USD, add GST 350x1.1=385 USD ~ 585 AUD > our ATL = 579AUD

and you can't even get the 9070XT anywhere near the lowest price even months after released, both in AUS and US

so one way to look at this is this is a good deal based on MSRP vs our lowest, the other way to look at this is how it should be priced from the beginning and the other two models are way overpriced
