DeWalt DW735-XE 330mm Thicknesser - $899 + $150 Bonus eGift Card + Delivery ($0 C&C/ in-Store) @ Bunnings

440

Looks like Bunnings is price matching Sydney Tools, as far as I can tell this is an ATL. Bunnings also has a Spend and Get off until tomorrow (30/6/25) on DeWalt and a couple of other brands so will be eligible for a $150 gift card via redemption, see https://www.bunnings.com.au/campaign/redemption-gift-card

  • I picked this up an hour ago and was just about to post this deal as well, you just beat me!

    • Picked one up as well, nearly bought a second hand one for $650 earlier in the week. I think with the gift card it's a steal.

      • What kind of stuff are you doing for regular usage of the thicknesser?

        • +1

          Building houses

          • @serpserpserp: wow you got found out.

these are more for furniture / woodworking.

build houses with mitre/drop saws + circular saws

        • I pretty much exclusive build furniture, usually fairly small. I use it more for flattening then thicknessing

    • that checks out

    • +4

I believe a "Thicknesser" only makes things thinner, not thicker.

Well, I have just the right tool for you then…

  • total tools has a 20% bonus point promotion at the moment, any idea if bonus points accumulate on price matches?

    • Nothing about excluding price matches in the T&Cs, only caveat might be "This offer may not apply to some catalogue lines, clearance lines & products already marked down."

    • no point on price matches i have been told today.

      • +1

Uhhh since when? I've always gotten the bonus cash on price matches with TT……

      • I bought the bunnings deal, but initially lodged an online pricematch with total tools. They approved the price match and can confirm that you do earn the bonus points on the reduced price ($899).

If you're on the fence (heh) about buying one of these, I learned my local men's shed has one you can use for free (as do several others in greater Sydney - expect the other capitals are the same). You'd want to be using it a lot to justify the space + cost, although at this price… pretty tempting. I can usually get stock in whatever thickness I need these days 🤷‍♂️

  • In my opinion biggest P.O.S thicknesser, got one thats only been used 6 times and its broke 3 times

    • Mate how did you break it three times? What did you do?

      • +3
        • 1st time the thing shocked me (grounding issue)
        • 2nd time belt was loose when they sent it so it chewed it out
        • 3rd no idea, but back at sydney tools again

Also lol whats with the down vote, not allowed to have a opinion of a product before people spend $900?? Also just to put it out there I'm a carpenter with a shed + ute full of tools, not just a handy man going nuts on Saturdays so know my way around tools 🙃

Weird kind of item for Bunnings to stock. You'd expect to find this in a tool shop.

    • My local bunnings has recently expanded the in store tool shop quite a bit.

      • Same. Just checked your location and you're no where near me. Sounds like bunnings might be making a bigger push into the tool arena. Either that or they're upgrading older stores to match newer ones.

    • Why are people downvoting my comment?? Bunnings isn't a tool shop, you go to Total Tools or somewhere like that for specialty tools. Bunnings only stocks the best-selling, most common type of tools. There's hundreds of tools they don't have.

  • Pair it with a jointer and tablesaw and never worry about twisted timbers again!

  • Planer (US) = Thickness Planer (US) = Thicknesser (UK)

  • Thanks OP. Got the last one in my area today

  • Thanks, I got the last one at my store. The ticket still had $1250 on it but scanned at $899, plus I got the gift card yesterday. Now to get some sort of dust collection system because it makes a huge mess without one.

Just a note for those that do want to claim the e-gift redemption.
The link above (https://www.bunnings.com.au/campaign/redemption-gift-card) does gets you to what looks like a right redemption page and you do get a confirmation message "Thanks, your form was successfully submitted" once the form is submitted but you do not get a confirmation email and I suspect the form is not successfully submitted as 10 days later I still had no response from Bunnings.
Instead, goggle "Tools e-gift cards redemption" and click on the Bunnings link. Once there you will see that the URL is much longer e.g. https://www.bunnings.com.au/campaign/redemption-gift-card?sr…
Now when the form is submitted you’ll receive a confirmation email almost instantaneously and hopefully an e-gift card few days later.

    • Thanks for this! Came back to this deal to see if anyone else had received their gift card yet.
