All orders have been cancelled. It's very bad!

Thanks, just the right time for me.

  • Can I continue to use it only for receiving calls after 30 days?

    • +6

In my experience, with most mobile carriers, it was usually possible to receive texts and calls for about 5 to 6 months until the number was deactivated.

      • thanks!

      • +3

Be careful, Last month, my Kogan number stopped receiving calls or text 20 days after plan expiry. The customer support was of no use, only telling me to recharge to reactivate the number.

        • +3

          That's not an error

It's in fact specified in their help section

However, it is indeed different to how most carriers do it - which is, like OnlyOneStar pointed out - usually 5-6 months after plan expiry

          • @illumination: Amaysim has been 12 months after credit expires. Has sometimes been longer than 2 years in past.
Then receive email warning of expiry - can add $10 for another year of PAYG.

    • +1

I couldn’t receive messages starting less than a month after the plan expired, and my number was deactivated after three months That happened last year, so I'm not sure if anything has changed since then.

easiest way to do this is to do signup on felix (signup offer is usually like 50% off so will be 10 bux) and then buy a 365 day roaming pack for 20 bux. Then pause the local plan.

The end result is a sim that you can still receive calls and texts from in australia and a roaming plan (4 gigs roaming data). It all lasts for 365 days. All for like 35 bux a year.

      • Amaysim 365 day I go for is $10. Obviously PAYG so not as flexible.

        • $30 Amaysim SIM $10 + 600pt @Woolies Can connect as PAYG with $30 credit for a year.

          • @INFIDEL: Do you know if it can be used as a recharge?

            • @illumination: Starter SIM packs are for new accounts. Don't know any that can be used as recharges.

I keep a long term number on Amaysim, porting out to another telco & back to Amaysim with these for a year for $30 credit. About to do that tomorrow as credit has run out. But still can receive calls & SMS.

Ive had good experience with them before for my parents short australia trip.

Wonder what the expiry date is on these things.

    • From memory they don't have one. I had one from a previous $5 sale.

  • Spending $20 on two of these to score 1,000 Qantas points via ER Rewards a good deal or not really?

  • Thanks OP

    Boost is cheaper

  • +4

So that'd end up costing $5 after $5 worth as credit in Everyday Rewards points.

This might be a better/more reliable alternative to various reports of poor experiences getting cashback from some cashback provider offers for SIM starter kits from some mobile service providers promising even better/cheaper almost free bargains and even getting paid at times (who doesn't love that)?

  • +1

Ok the purchase limit is 2 but do you get 2x1000 bonus points if you 2 or just 1000 once?

  • Can you pay using points? Are these treated as gift cards?

    • +1

      yes using Everyday rewards

PSA: As per the back of the pack, the expiry date is 2 years from the manufacturing date printed on the packaging. However, there were some produced without a manufacturing date, and when I contacted Konec I was advised that those packs will expire on 31/7/25.

    • So find a pack with a manufacturing date, thanks.

  • Judging by their website, a physical sim can be easily converted to an eSim. Has anyone tried it?

  • +1

Hi, just email konec about the expiry date
The SIM cards you have purchased will expire on 30th June 2026 so be sure to activate them on or before this date

Unfortunately, at this time we are unable to supply the below items in your order. We apologise for any inconvenience this may
*I received 2000 rewards points even though my order of 2 Sim cards was cancelled.

    • +1

That's how it usually works eh

      • I didn't think I would still receive the points if my order wasn't fulfilled so I'm not complaining

        • +1

I've experienced that many times because big w cancels a lot of orders. They award points as soon as the order is placed so anyone can use them up even before it comes to pick up or cancellation

          • @Big-Deal: You sure? I'm only getting the points after it's shipped or picked up.

            • @Ezio: Not 100% if it happens all the time but pretty sure I've been able to use up points from orders before pick up at least a couple of times

            • +1

@Ezio: Placed an order for this and just received ready for pick up email and can confirm 1000 pts are in my account before picking up

  • No where to be seen in brisbane

  • Purchased two online and Just received ready to collect notification from North Lakes.
