Great price if you're a clown that can't use a hot spoon.
I'm a clown that doesn't even use hot spoon.. just a spoon. Am always too ambitious but I bend my spoon everytime!
“There is no spoon, Mr Frodo.”
Using spoons are for people with manners and patience. I have no time for that!
Mum's place still has a drawer full of bent and discoloured spoons from my brother and I heating them up over the stove to get the ice cream.
Heating them up a bit too much I guess.
We're clowns.

i just bought this for $9 after read this post
my free bulla ice cream scoop still going strong
The spade? That thing is so good at scraping.
Marge where's the metal dealy you use to dig food?
Those zeroll icecream scoops are the best. My kitchenaid one has a loosening fit between the handle and the scoop.
Second the zeroll
isn't the whole point of an ice cream scoop is to use your body heat to melt a little of the ice cream to scoop it easier? How is this overpriced plastic rubbish any better than a spoon?
use your body heat to melt a little of the ice cream
Are you sitting on your ice cream like an egg?
Real ice cream scoops have a heat conductive liquid inside the handle the heats up from your body when you hold it, making the spoon head heat up to go through the ice cream…
Companies just rip off the shape of a scoop and people who don't know how it's supposed to work buy these annoying things that are no better than a regular spoon they've already got 10 of
Thanks for sharing this, went to do some research after and bought a Zeroll :)
@iori57: After all the Zeroll comments, I went down a rabbit hole: Zeroll invented an ice cream scoop that has mineral oil in the handle. The heat of your hand heats up the scoop.
The Zeroll is also made of aluminium which is a better conductor than the stainless steel of other brands.
Together the handle's contents & the scoop's material mean the ice cream slides off the scoop more easily. The Zeroll also apparently forms nice round scoops. It can't go in the dishwasher due to the handle.
Downside: it's expensive. But it appears Spotlight has a knockoff made by Avanti for $12 and Kitchen Warehouse has one for $10 made by Appetito.
Lastly, if you have dexterity issues, one site says the Midnight Tools scoop is the one to get the job done (no liquid in handle though).
@OZB Al: I bought the Kitchen Warehouse one. Washed it & used it on some soft homemade ice cream. Worked a treat!
It has written on the handle (!) that you must not put it in boiling water or water over 60C. I suspect ppl ruin the magic then get angry at the company.
I hope cleaning it doesn't prove too annoying. I have no clue how hot tap water gets. I suspect I will have to handwash it straight after use to keep it hygienic. This may prove to be a
PITA but so far I like the potential of the easy-release scoop, esp for $10.
confidently ignant pleb! every capitalist's wet dream come true
Life hack, using a blunt butter knife is better than any scoop. Just look at how igloos are built - same concept.
As opposed to a sharpened butter knife?
Haters gonna hate
We do not constraints. ahh Bulla icecream
Its like any wedding product. Overpriced.
Gotta admit, that video in the amazon link is pretty effective advertising…
Yeah bought after that so I guess it was
Ended up getting this instead. The lever part is stainless steel. https://www.amazon.com.au/dp/B09ZDP4N85?smid=ANEGB3WVEVKZB&r…
I bought and returned this, and went for the JJ. Too much of the OXO scoop and the "flipper" part overlap, making it hard to clean and even harder to dry.
C'mon; keep you ice cream in the fridge. No spoon required.
No. Only icecream.
Yalls not eating the whole 2L bulla choc chip straight from the tub in 1 sitting while watching reruns of Seinfeld? Sad times.
A lot of these are chromed metal and that chrome will eventually peal off.
I found the stainless steel ones last much better and don’t add extras to you ice cream. Ones like this:
OXO Stainless Steel Ice Cream Scoop Black/Silver 1.4 x 4.25 x 10.45 https://amzn.asia/d/6U5j9jI
Zyliss is better, heavier.
Been using Zyliss for years. Stands the test of time. Excellent recommendation!!!
Perfect for that KFC mash!
JJ is one of those brands that are usually 50% off everywhere (e.g. DJ/Myer) so better to wait for that.
