    4.76%

Better than nothing but not great either. I'll give it a miss unless you were planning on spending up big at Amazon soon.

      • +14

Seeing so many people getting excited for 5% makes me a little sad.

        • +3

Think of it as getting $10 for free, if you pre-pay Amazon $200. People go to similar effort for $3 on here.

          • +2

@realJuliusCaesar: Exactly. If you're going to spend the money on Amazon anyway, its free money. I bought the $200 GC, then applied the $10 off to a $39 item which made it an absolute steal at $29 with the promo code.

I get the people complaining its not much comparing it to previous offers, but its still better than nothing if you're going to buy on Amazon anyway

    • How've you come up with 4.76% and not a flat 5%?

      • +6

Just think of it as you are getting something worth $210 but only paying $200, which is a 4.76% discount.

        • +1

It is a $10 discount on a future purchase.

Just looked at a $20 Amazon item that is $4 at Kmart.

      • +8

You pay $200 for $210 gift card, so the discount is 10/210 and not 10/200.

  • -6

Not worth the hassle to invest $200 for just $10 return.
Unless otherwise you had a compelling need to purchase some thing it is not worthwile.

Anyone thought of what happenes when you return the item that was purchased on this gift card? funds go straight back to the amazon gift card and you are guranteed to spend on Amazon only. Once you purchase $200 gift card then Amazon gurantee your spend on themselves and you run out of options or choice. Dont get fooled by it.

I agree, wait for the Coles 10% off gift cards and stick up.

      • Which Coles 10% off gift cards can be used on Amazon?

      • +3

Coles and GiftCards.com.au no longer sell Amazon gift cards so the chances of them running this offer again are basically zero.

        • -1

          Where did you hear this?

    • If you are about to spend $200 it is absolutely worth it. Not something I would go out of my way to get unless I had something specific in mind that I was already about to purchase though.

  • Does it work on Amazon Business too?

    • +1

I don't know about purchasing the gift cards under your Amazon Business profile, but once you have the gift cards you can redeem them either your personal or business profile. I made the mistake last night of redeeming GC's on my personal profile and not realising they couldn't be used or transferred to the business profile.

I did ask Amazon Business live chat, who said they couldn't transfer between profiles but if I contacted Amazon personal live chat then they could unredeem the GC's so that I could redeem them again under the business profile.

  • -1

damn it - forgot to use promo code…

    • +1

Same here. Just open a chat with Amazon and tell them you haven't received it. They will add it manually.

  • +4

The promotional code you entered cannot be applied to your purchase. I get this message now because i had removed the gift card after i had added it. :S

    • +2

It says under the FAQ that if you get that message then it is because it is already applied (assuming it is $200 plus and you are a Prime member). If you already added it to a card previously it stays applied to your account even if you didn't check out and delete the card. You can still use it, just put in the code again to make sure it is applied.

      • Since my post Amazon have changed it to be more clear if it has been 'redeemed', see the FAQ on the GC Deal page: "How can I check if my promotional credit has been applied?"

    • I got this too. You just have to buy and hope. There's no indication that it was applied successfully but I got the email confirmation after purchase.

  • -1

The $10 promotional offer only applies to 'eligible' purchases.

  • -1

    Needem

  • +6

Nope, code doesn't work "The promotional code you entered cannot be applied to your purchase."

    • +1

      same.

  • Does using the promo credit invalidate cashbacks?

  • +1

    Seems to stack.

I needed to buy a mattress so bought 2x $250 gift cards and receive 2x Email mentioning the $10 promo applied to my account.

It is not visible in the Gift Card balance page, but will auto apply on elligible order at the last step

    • Your $10 promo will appears at check out when you purchase item that is fulfilled and shipped by Amazon.

  • Worked out perfectly for me. Needed an item that was $209. Bought the gift card and used the promo credit for the item straight away.

  • +1

I was able to claim this twice - once on my personal account and also on the business profile. (Same Prime subscription for both).
Just bought a bunch of PC parts under the business profile and when you get to checkout there is some kind of invisible discount applied… it's not specified but there were significant savings.

Eg. a Ryzen 9 9900X shows as being $757.20 on the product page but by the time you get to the checkout screen it shows as $688.36

  • +1

I applied the code in checkout and my browser crashed and the code no longer works. I went to customer service chat and the said some technical glitch not allowing me to apply the code and they are they giving me a $10 credit.

  • It works on the promo section of the giftcard purchasing page when i add the $200 card, but when im at checkout theres no indication of it and when i try to add the code it says promo code cant be applied on this order… is tbis normal for everyone it worked with?

    • It says under the FAQ that if you get that message then it is because it is already applied (assuming it is $200 plus and you are a Prime member).

  • +2

Code does not work during check out with the error code "The promotional code you entered cannot be applied to your purchase" despite it showing "eligible for offer etc" on gift card page and in cart

Went to support chat and they gave me $10 gift card balance even before I made the $200 gift card purchase

    • Same.. :)

    • Works here, likely you have already applied it previously. If you try to apply it again it gives that error and you have to purchase and just hope.

  • +1

    Codendoesnt work

  • +3

You don't need to enter the code, just click 'Redeem'. I purchased without this code and got the promo of $10.

  • +1

Not even 10% stop supporting these deals next time they will give you 10 cents for $200 people will still go for it….. Honestly

  • As of 10 minutes ago, still getting the promo credit.

    • -1

Can you use it more than once?

      • "Offer can be redeemed once per Prime member" but apparently someone had luck with their personal and business acc so might be worth a shot.

        • Ok cool, thanks, that might be worth a try. Appreciate it. 🙏🏼

  • -1

    Is it still working? GCPRIME10

    • yep, as of this morning.

  • only one $10 worked for me, cant stack

  • How long did it take for you guys to receive the promotional credit to your account? I'm planning to make a purchase soon and wanted to use that credit for the purchase itself. Was just wondering if it was instant for many people or took a while to receive

    • Email came through 5 mins after purchase along with the gift card.

      • Thank you!

  • fork. forgot to add the code or redeem the deal. but spoke to customer service rep and been told it's already applied.
