Staff of sony retailers get'tm for special price. I think they resale

        • +2

I thought so initially, but the seller gave me a JB Hi-Fi receipt showing they paid full price for it ($698). Some people just don't really care about money, I guess.

  • Hmm 242ish after TRS… is that a super bargain price?

    • +2

I believe the invoice needs to be over $300 for the purchase to be eligible for trs?

Thanks OP bought one to replace when hinge of the pair I bought last week snaps next week

Is it just me or does Sony have the dumbest policy in the world when it comes to naming its products?
How the heck can anyone remember which model is basic, a bit better or premium?
Please just name them Standard, Pro or Ultra and be done with all these letters and numbers

    • +6

      Is Pro or Ultra better?

      • +2

What does it matter when the Pro Max Ultra Edition exists?

    • +8

I think we need less of the Pro and Ultra bullshit, personally.

Sony has named every single thing they have ever made, going back decades, randomly, besides PlayStation. It's always worked for them.

    • +2

no we don't need to applefy everything.
You can go bark up Samsungs tree for that.

code TECHY makes it slightly cheaper, comes down to $274.18

What's people's experiences with 2nds? Do they have the standard warranty?

    • +2

      Yes full warranty from Sony.

I got mine a year ago, I couldn’t tell it was used, except the box was a bit dirty

    • Avoid Sony seconds if you can. I had a 2nds XM3 and was constantly have cracking sound, and they refused to replace it.

      • Warranty or ACL?

      • This happened on my xm5s. It was like that when I got it but they only gave the option to repair or refund.

I was eventually able to get them to agree to a replacement after a lot of nonsense. Not of another colour in stock so it was about 6 weeks later.

I guess it depends on how much of a hurry you are in and whether the difference in price is worth it to you.
The hinge on my xm5 broke so I just grabbed xm4s seconds for $201 insteaad of $301 for xm5s or $360 for new ones from big W.
